Is it wrong to accept them? Offcourse the act is haram and in no way acceptable but we live in a society where this kind of lifestyle is common. Should we hate them all? I have even heard some people say its ok to shoot them :-/ Offcourse I know thats not right. But then why do we accept people who sleep around, gamble, drink, etc in our society? Aren’t all these big sins too?
I just read in another thread that they homos aren’t even muslim, whats the basis for that?
What do you mean by "accept"? Or, "wrong" for that matter?
For the sake of consistency, we should treat them no different than others guilty of fornication, adultry, etc. We do go overboard in scorn....but then, I see no big push to "accept" fornicators, gamblers, drinkers, etc. So, I can see why this issue is a flashpoint and not the others.
Before thinking of accepting someone, one should know why they are frowned upon and what Islam and teachings of the prophet:saw: are about such. Starting from that, one will know why such people are considered out of Islam and if you will search, you will find ahaadeeth about the punishment. Adding that to the guidance we get from Quran, one will know that such acts were considered to be cause of Allah’s wrath in His eyes.. :swt: … and the nation of Lut :as: was destroyed telling us that they were the transgressors and not people with faith and Iman. They can never be muslims. That is the guidance and the message of Quran. That is, if one really thinks about why it is in the Quran for us to read. Not just a story.
i've got a question regarding this and actually some1 asked me this question aswell which im confused and dnt know about...
Qaum e Lut was destroyed because they were transgressors!! they did what was/is forbidden!!! like drinking, fornication etc. are forbidden but people commit these sins; they';re addicted to them etc and they choose to do/commit them!!
but nowadays we see that not all homos choose to be that way; they are made that way; its beyond just being physical for them; its a relationship for them just as between a man and a woman!! i.e. they do not choose to be homos.. when they know how the society sees them etc etc why would they choose to be that way!!
how does one interpret the rulings of Islam regarding the matter in this context?
I always say its so easy to hate others...why waste your energy hating anyone. jahan tak baat rahi gunnah ki...well this is between Allah and the individual, why do we need to judge anyone. If they were harming you than sure go ahead and hate them as much as you want, but what they do in the private of their bedroom is no one business so leave them alone.

Perhaps the bigger lesson of Lut was the immorality of the people - fornication, immodesty, excess, alcohol, unprincipled - total decay of society.
Since homosexual relationships at that time were promiscuous, blatant sodomy, they fell into the category of 'transgression'. In today's world (in certain societies), homosexuals can live monogamous, moral, productive lives that can be as pious and giving as God made man to be and worship him as He commands.
If Moral = goodness of character and human action, conscientious, correct, decent, decorous, dutiful, elevated, exemplary, high-minded, honest, honorable, immaculate, incorruptible, innocent, just, kindly, laudable, meritorious, modest, noble, praiseworthy, principled, proper, pure, respectable, righteous, scrupulous, trustworthy, truthful, upright, upstanding and virtuous then I have met many a homosexual who have fit this description more than many a fundamentalist who claim moral superiority based on closed mindedness self righteousness.
hmm homo's are just plain nasty...but what about the killers, rapist and ppl in general who are nasty and hurtful to others. i guess those ppl are way better than homos in your book.
Fine example how religious minds can get away with spewing hatred and intolerance in the name of ALLAH/GOD. More people need to attend CHURCH OF HUMAN RIGHTS!!!!
Angelina Jolie is perfect example of a decent, loving, tolerant and informative human being! Even with all her 'sins' the pious fundamentalists have al ot to learn from her.
