US special operations forces have carried out a raid inside Syria, killing a man identified as senior Islamic State leader Abu Sayyaf.
The White House said in a statement that Sayyaf was a senior IS leader who, among other things, had a senior role in overseeing the group’s illicit oil and gas operations.
Sayyaf’s wife Umm was captured during the raid and is in US military detention in Iraq.
This was the first known US special forces operation inside Syria apart from a failed secret effort to rescue a number of hostages held by Islamic State in north-eastern Syria last year.
Well the question is very valid. And there two probable answers:
Muslim world only starts worrying about those who become a close threat to their monarchic rule, dictatorship or wutever. IS is definitely a threat to entire humanity but its not happening tomorrow.
They know houthies are very poor and resistance is almost nothing. Easy to bully and crush them.
Overall rules of this so-called muslim world are so lame that they cannot make bold decisions on their own.
