This has gone on for a long time. The asinine and absurd practices by moderator (ma mooli) in religion forum need to END!
I’ve been warned multiple times for posts that were IN RESPONSE to posts made by shias and Qadiyanis… yet they were NEVER warned? Is this the shia way of justice/fair play?
It has happened not once but on multiple occassions and gupshup administration needs to up the moderation standard as well as put moderators who can put equal oppurtunity ahead of personal grudges and favoritism. There have been complaints about Ma Mooli in the past as well so the problem is definately this particular mod.
If you warn me for posting something in RESPONSE to post made by someone else EARLIER than warn that user as well and not just the person who is REACTING to a comment made already. And frankly, it was left untouched.
This absurdity needs to end… put some better moderator in place.
Hmmm......I have a question: When you are warned, you would know that. But how would you know that the other poster was/not warned? I am just curious to see if there's a way to find out, other than of course asking that poster whether he/she was warned or not.
Well, maybe other users can't see your warn level. There should be a way to let the user being warned know that:
-you were warned because of these reasons (give detailed reason and in professional manner)
-other person was also warned
In latest case, the reason I got was:
"lame post"
Is that the standard that gupshup administration pushes in the moderator precedures, etc.? Just "lame post" that is suppose to satisfy the user? If mod does warn a user he/she must be ready to give full explanation rather than "lame post," if that is the reason then there are hundres of users making lame posts in many of gupshup's forums.
No thought was given as to WHY such "lame post" was made... in response to WHICH comment?
Jaan Leva I think you should just cool it a bit there. I have just recently come back to this forum and the reason I left (not once but twice) was the unfair attitude of the mods against shia posters. To the extent that I quite the forum. This times it seems slightly better. Even if u go to the religion forum right now u will see half a dozen threads against shias with posters saying all manner of things. If what you wanted to say exceeded even those limits then u deserve to be banned. God knows I have been warned for far less by wahhabi mods. So just because the religion forum isnt ENTIRELY a wahhabi roaming ground anymore isnt cause for u to cry foul.
I don't have issue against being warned... as long as I know that the other person who I REPLIED to was also warned because I wouldn't have made a "lame post" if it wasn't for the comment made by the other user.
if that is your only beef here then IMO that is not your right to know, and this has nothing to do with the background of the moderator. warnings and bans are private matters and that policy holds across forums, or atleast used to while I was moderating.
the other person doesnt know you’ve been warned either.
I didn't put this thread here so peasants of gupshup can come in and entertain themselves...
Apprently, it is our right to know if the other user was warned or not and that tells us if moderators are being fair or not. What is there to hide? It is great way to tell and let the visitors know, yes we are fair and user who posted the initial disrespectful comment was warned along with the user who posted a REPLY in reaction to comments made earlier.
If we don't find out, you will see more and more of this type of threads in feedback.
The important thing to remember here is that my comments were IN REPLY / IN REACTION to what a **shia **member posted... so I would like to know what corrective measures were taken to make sure that other user's leash is tightened so to avoid this type of issue in the future.

Well I;m glad someone's tightening ur leash atleast. Why dont u paste the post that u think deserved a warning and I guarantee I can respond with atleast a dozen which are worse if not at the same level. Anyone who takes a look at the religion forum will see for himself that if anything the wahhabi element is being given TOO free a hand. I see now its because u guys whine more than others.
Why open another thread if theres one already open on the same subject :S Do you even know how this forum stuff works on the internet?
And why exactly is that? In your very first post you mention shias and qadyianis. So its alright for you to single out groups but not for others to single out ur group? I can see now why you feel the religion forum isnt treating you well…its coz its treating everyone with more balance than u are used to; inspite of the fact that it gives you a longer leash than u deserve.
Picard, this thread does not concern you my friend. Read the intial post again.
And I said this:

I said, my posts were made in resposne to those made by such and such group... how is that singling out a particular group? Get your head out of your... because i mentioned some groups that doesn't mean you have to automatically link it with wahhabi, etc.
This thread doesn't even concern wahhabis or what not. From absurdity to stupidity... is that all?
Have you contacted the mod who issued the warning? Please remember that moderators are here to maintain a civil space for discussion. What was the tone and nature of your comment? Could it have been perceived as disrespectful?
Actually not anymore. About a couple of weeks ago, it was fixed. That was a bug that was causing the warning logs to appear in the usernotes. If you check Jaan Leva’s usernote, the last warnings he has are from Jan 17, not the one issued yesterday/today.
