Abs

Girls how do you get nice abs??? I do crunches and other stomach exercises but I want nice abs. What should I do and how long does it usually take to get nice abs???

start swimming .. or cross country or the most desi way is to do bridge ;)

well u get down on ground facing down then pull ur self up throwin al the weight on ur toes n albows n make sure ur back is flat !!!

If you wanna shape up your body, the best thing is to watch Windsor Pilates and do the exercise yourself. It really helps sculpt the body. I do that once in a while before going to bed or in the morning. Trust me, you will get what you want within two weeks guaranteed. :k: You can beat me up after if it doesn’t make a difference!

to get nice abs, u also need to be like running and walking.. uve got to get rid of the fat before working on the abs..

That’s if you are concerned about losing weight at the same time. Yes, you may want to get rid of the fat before worrying about your abs.

^ yeap, thats what im doing at the moment…

before is started going to the gym (and ive quit now :bummer: ) i used to do about 35min walks 5 times a week, didnt do many crunches.. only jab junoon charta tha.. but i found walking is the best way to lose weigth/fat around the waist.. its actually really good for the arms too.. :k:

^ seriously? :bummer: I don’t walk a lot except when I am at work. I find gyms useless for some reason and those machines… argh!! …Takes me forever to figure out how to operate them. :frusty2:

if you need to lose weight around the wasit first, then you should combine aerobics with crunches adn other tummy exercises. Otherwise you will notice that you will have nice abs but they will be beneath a layer of fat.

Piyari: I have a couple books by Denise Austin. One on pilates and another one called Hit the Spot or something similiar. They both have nice moves esp the second one I love and have seen excellent results along with lifting weights and running 35-45 mins 5-7 days a week.

^ Ira u run 5 times a week for 45 min?? I hate running.. but make me walk for an hour and i wont complain at all... i love walking..

Dimagh, I generally walk outside.. but cus of winter I've started using my treadmill again.. man its a good workout though..

b/w how many calories should one be trying to burn off in one workout?

Natural anty calories count is never for desi ppl :D lol .. u know ur suppoz to take only 1000 calories every day n only one DESI GHEE PERATHA GOT 800 + calories in it :) lol

walking and running has been always hard for me .. ill sujjust u to join some kind of sport like i play American football ;) .. so yea that motivates me to be in shape !

Well I do workout. I try to go to the gym 6 to 7 days a week. Every other day I do weight training and the days I am not weight training I usually try to work up a sweat. I just need new suggestions because I have been doing the same routine that I think its getting old and boring now.

Dimag: I have tried pilates. The only problem is that if u don't get the moves down right it doesn't work. I even took classes that were offered through my school. I am starting to do Pilates a little bit. Which video do u have?

I own the whole set… Yeah, I agree on getting the moves right. You have to get it right -especially breathing in and out. Once you get the hang of it, you begin to enjoy the workout. :slight_smile:

its not to try its to do straight for 5 minz !!! took me more then a month to do it 5 minz straight !!! try it yar n then crunchers n then a lil bity jogging shud work PERFECT n oh yea one more thing dont mess with too much weights ... u know musculer guls are just like EWWWWWWWWWW :(

MrB: do u regularly go to the gym???? And if so what should be the amt of weights to lift so that ur not building muscle but working out your muscles? And how many reps should u do?

huh? where did u get that from? You know the recommended amount of calorie intake is 2000 a day. And there’s one other rule of thumb for it, if you want to maintain your current weight, multiply it by 10 and that will be the number of calories you oughta take per day. It’s a rough approximation though.

As in, if you weigh a 100 pounds, you will have to take a 1000 calories roughly to maintain the weight, to lose some, take 900 or 800 calories a day, to gain take 1100 or 1200 calories a day.

So, going by the equation, are ya like 100 pounds, which is like “EWWWW” for a guy? :stuck_out_tongue:

Pyaari, windsor pilates works, if toning is the only thing you want to achieve. Pilates with running 3 days a week will be better.
