Will be interesting to hear what the alleged chemical weapons are, and where exactly it has been found.

and the weapons inspectors could not find this earlier?

jhoot bakwaas :disgust:

ukwali sis i dont know what to believe and what not to believe…these ppl are just aggressors and liars. they have stooped to unbelievable levels of cruelty and hypocrisy. i will never believe a word utterred by them now. all these pieces of news are just irrelevant. the only relevant truth is there are innocent ppl dying in iraq and those are the only innocent deaths happenning right now.

Folow this thread:- http://www.gupistan.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97135&highlight=record and scroll down 17 posts and see what Abdali said

Irem it is something that definately has to be questioned. US are probably just looking for something to justify what they are doing just as everything goes wrong for them. Call me a cynic, but the 24 hours in which things havent gone to plan suddenly comes to light they have found a chemical weapons factory.

One thing to keep in mind though is no matter where you get news items from, need to just keep in mind that we are only goin g to hear what both sides want us to hear.

Abdali I cant believe I actually went and counted down 17 posts :D, but ya does look like you were right :)

Also just noticed this on the link I posted before.

US: CHEMICAL WEAPONS STORE FOUND

A huge chemical weapons factory has been found in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.

Iraqi Generals in charge of the facility have been arrested in connection with the find made in Najaf, around 270 miles south of Baghdad, US military officials say.

Sky News Foreign Affairs expert Tim Marshal said if the claims are substantiated they will in part vindicate President Bush and Prime Minister Blair.

They have argued the case for war against Iraq on the grounds that Saddam Hussein had banned weapons of mass destruction.

The Iraqi regime has always denied this and UN weapons inspectors sent back into the country at the end of last year failed to find any evidence to suggest otherwise.

Why does this remind me of the US government's claims in 1998, regarding that factory in Sudan, which they bombed to smithereens with US cruise missiles? It turned out later that it was the al Shifa pharmaceutical factory and its only crime was that it produced aspirins.

In the case of Iraq, if this does turn out later to be a CW plant, i am sure that weapons inspectors from UNMOVIC had most likely drawn up plans to investigate this factory; UN weapons inspectors might even been disarming it right now as we speak had it not been they had to leave because of the US's eagerness to start this invasion.

>>Call me a cynic, but the 24 hours in which things havent gone to plan suddenly comes to light they have found a chemical weapons factory.<<
Interesting point.

wag the dog?

Thr facility was disguised with sand-cast walls so that it would blend in with the surrounding desert and not be visible from the air.

Exactly. Also it’s only 90 miles from Baghdad. The US seem to have detail “facts” about Iraq hiding chemical weapons in the same stash as their conventional ones, but fail to know anything about a chemical weapons plant so close to Baghdad? Pathetic.

Fret you think it's so unreasonable that Saddam might have a WMD program / factories?

30 troops and a general were taken at the possible chemical site as well. I stress possible, the headline of this thread is misleading.

this whole war is based on misleadings, headed by United States of Agression. :nook:

just yesterday reporters were asking the americans that how come they haven’t found any WMD so far? i mean you’ve been beating the drums for months now that you have undisputable information and intelligence reports regarding the locations and places where these WMD are hidden by the regime … americans were having rough times answering these questions and obviously it was embarassing aswell.

so now within 24hrs, they have manage to locate a place filled with WMD and CW … i see another lie in the making … another deception is about to be thrown at the world and another misleading step is to be taken to justify this highly illegal war … :nook:

hi, i'm new, i've been reading this forum for a while and am really interested by the discussions here, so finally i signed up.

what i want to know about the discovery of this chemical plant is kyon sochte ho ki yeh discovery jhootha hai? abdali? yahaan sabko maloom hai ki saddam hussein ek bahut bura aadmi hai; no matter whether you're for or against this war, i don't think anybody disagrees that he has killed a lot of his own people, in a lot of gruesome ways. sawaal sirf yeh hai ki "amrika ko dusre mulk invade karna chaahiye ya nahiin" -- right? islie agar kahaani asli hai to tumko koi farq nahiin padta, right? amrikan hamle ke baare mein tumhara khayaal nahiin badlega. so why such doubt? do you think ALL the news sources are lies? if so, khabar kahaan se milti hai? what sources do you trust?

on that note, anybody know of any news sites in urdu (that don't require you to download fonts)?

All bull****.Agar aisi baat hoti to ab tak un logon ne aasmaan sar par utha liya hota.
But I am sure these guys are capable of 'planting one' in Iraq.

Don't believe that finding a Chemical Weapons plant has yet been confirmed.

That said, sometimes wonder if will it take thousands of people being gassed as proof of WMD? Though if the unthinkable happens, some would probobly argue that the American's did it.

ABOUT TURN OVER FACTORY

The Pentagon is playing down reports that US troops have found a “huge” chemical weapons factory in the town of Najaf, 100 miles south of Baghdad.

Sky’s Washington correspondent Keith Graves says it now appears as if the facility has not been manufacturing chemical or biological weapons.

“Officials are urging journalists to treat reports of this type of find with more caution,” he said.

The facility was uncovered by the 1st Brigade of the Third Infantry division as they advanced north towards Baghdad.

The 100-acre complex ,lies next to military barracks and is surrounded by an electrical fence.

Asked at a news conference in Qatar about reports of the chemical plant, Lt Gen John Abizaid of US Central Command refused to comment.

He would only say: “We have an Iraqi general officer, two Iraqi general officers that we have taken prisoner, and they are providing us with information.”

UN weapons inspectors have said they are not aware of any large-scale chemical sites in Najaf.

Spokesman Ewen Buchanan said UN inspectors visited a cement plant in Najaf earlier this year but did not find anything untoward.

Graves pointed out that the US and Britain are desperate for evidence that Iraq has been manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.

"This has been cited as the main reason for going to war against Saddam Hussein, who denies having banned weapons.

“It would also explain why, in this case, there was so much excitement when troops investigated the factory.”

Looks as though they have finally realised that they were wrong by pplaying down the significance of the chemical factory find. I am not surprised at all

Well that is understandable, due to sand storms yanks did not get the chance to move chemicals and other stuff to this location...

Oh well better luck next time... Its just a matter of time when you will hear a lot about Iraqs WMD all over the place.

Not a surprise.

Abdali your beloved Saddam has WMD. Will they be all over the place who knows? You act as if Saddam would never be in possession of such weapons.
