About those who drink alcohol

Re: About those who drink alcohol

I chuckle when I see hijabs with tight designer Jeans, loud makeup and flashy jewellery...

Re: About those who drink alcohol

That was defensive offence, point is don't cite religion as a reason when we are clearly drenched in much bigger sins as defined by religion, I know a guy who does hajj and niaz all the time with rishwat money and a religious dad happily handed his religious daughter to him and a guy like me who loves his drink, works hard for his money, volunteers and does charity is judged by the rashi ghibat demons

Do you really wanna marry someone who doesn't drink. I'd imagine getting along with someone who refuses to enjoy a drink or two with you would be a drag. For that reason I'm pretty sure people who drink wouldn't wanna marry me either. Because to them I'm stuck up and don't wanna have any fun.

Also who cares if people judge you, just ditch those fools. If they're as corrupt as you describe them to be, you shouldn't be worring about their perception of you.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

As soon as one mentions religion, that person gets tomatoes and even stones thrown at...by so called liberals and champions of freedom.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

It is the monsters hiding behind the veil of religion that the civilized world has a problem with.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

It is the monsters hiding behind the veil of freedom and liberation that 'whole' world has problem with.

I am trying to see if there is a coherent thought hidden in there.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

This has been a very emotional thread indeed. We can see from 12 pages of responses how sensitive this topic is for Pakistanis. We rarely see this kind of sensitivity when discussing other topics but there is nothing wrong in it for a society where 99% of religion is about covering women and avoiding alcohol and everything else is laughed off as petty crimes.

I think this thread is not going anywhere anymore and causing all the pious holy preachers feeling picked up and offended (it happens to them all the time as everything about religion is a personal issue for them).

I request moderators to lock it or close it.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

^ I have been following this thread from the start and the people who started to make fun and feel offended were the very so 'open-minded' liberals (may I say that since you used 'pious holy preachers'?).

None of the so called pious ones has had a problem with others' preferences, instead it were people like you who started to make weird comparisons with grave sins such as rape and murder and crying 'hypocrism' and what not. Only because some people said they would never want to marry some one who drinks.

I often wonder why some people don't have a grain of self reflection. Ironically it's always the people who claim to be open-minded and following the 'live and let live' philosophy. But in reality can't stand people with different thoughts. And when those people challenge them or give them a taste of their own medicin they start crying about personal attacks and all of the sudden it's the other group that is creating all issues.

Maybe you don't know it yet. Open-minded does not mean that you go around cheering beer, clubbing and wearing small khachhis. Open-minded means that you respect others for having a different opinion, eventhough you might not agree with it.

Really pathetic how some people like to always point fingers at others. Naal chor naalay chattar.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

This. Geezer asked a simple question and got answers. The original question never involved what you think about bribery, rape, murder, interest etc. or if you would marry someone who does or has done them. So it's not those who refuse to marry a drinker who got offended. They just answered the question and it's more the "holy preachers" who are preaching there are sins other than or worse than drinking who seemed to have a problem with some people's opinions.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Thank you for presenting both sides in such a beautiful fashion - thread is being closed on OP's request!
