About those who drink alcohol

I want to ask from both males and females here. How do you view a potential match who drinks alcohol? Is drinking alcohol completely un-acceptable or does it depend on how frequent and on what occasion he/she drinks?

If it is not acceptable, is it because of religion or family values or something else?

Re: About those who drink alcohol

it was completely unacceptable to me!religious reasons.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

depends on how YOU view it. If Religion is your priority then obviously no. If your okay with one voilation then drinking is just as fine as eating.pork and other prohibitions.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

You can drink all you wan but be prepared for the consequences.

Drinking in our society and culture is considered a very negative habit .No family for obvious reasons would accept a drinker as their son in law

P.s Your question itself mirrors the extent of your faith.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

^ The devil has abandoned his creed it seems

About those who drink alcohol

Totally Unacceptable

Re: About those who drink alcohol

No for me as well.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

You mean a liberal? No.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

No way! I know a pakistani guy who drinks and it has really bad consequences, especially for the dudes wife and kids. Plus I personally would say NO FREAKING WAY!!! Mainily due to religious reasons though.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Drinking does not make one liberal. Conservatives drink (and drive) all the time.

I think the same question was asked a couple of months ago. Here we go http://www.paklinks.com/gs/life-and-relationships/622784-drinking-alcohol.html

And my opinion on the topic is still pretty much the same.

Though I’d try my best not to fall for someone who consumes alcohol. The biggest reason being that her consuming it would make it kosher for me too. If my spouse is doing it, it’s probably not that bad. On the flip side, her not partaking in this social ritual would give me some kinda moral support when refusing a cold one.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Deal breaker. Completely unacceptable regardless of circumstance or frequency.

Yeah... It says don't go to mosque when you are drunk. So I don't.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

How? Explain this if you can.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Not acceptable. Mainly for religious reasons but also because alcohol smells badly. Same reasoning for smoking. I can't stand the smell.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

this could be a valid question to someone who is around drinkers, but it's not even a thinkable question for me.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

i agree with your reasons. nauuzobillah, if i weren't a Muslim, i would have never even come anywhere close to those two social evils.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

But if you were raised in such a culture, you might not consider it taboo or a bad smell since you grew up with it.

Think of it this way. Lot of westerners, including pakistanis, dislike the heeng smell coming from certain indians due to their foods and their reasoning of not using detergent to clean clothes (yes, someone did tell me why not to use it.... ) but it apparently doesn't faze these people.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

good example but i don't use heeng lol...

it's also the effect of those alcohol and smoking. heeng may only smell bad but it's not injurious to your health and to others around you. a good percentage of accidents/crimes/domestic violence is associated with alcohol and lots of fires are attributed to the smoking. second hand smoke is as bad as someone smoking himself/herself.

miyaaN, jisko pee kar bande ko bed par hone yaa naali meN paRe hone kaa aHsaas jaataa rahe yaa jis cheez ke iste'maal se paisaa dhuveN meN uRaa diyaa jaaye vo hamaare liye kaise qaabil-e-qubool ho saktaa hai?

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Big deal breaker. In fact i dont go to bars or stuff and this idea of intoxication disgust me. Be it a alcohol or joint.

Re: About those who drink alcohol

Deal breaker because of religion.
