But men are emotional too . Don't you think so . Means on one hand they can divorce just because their wife cannot have a baby and on the other hand they think its ok to abort a baby . Contradictory isn't it ?
Yes, men are emotional too, but then again women are more emotional than men. Especially in cases as these. Like I said, it's the woman that is carrying the embryo. There's a change in the woman, not in the man.
Divorcing your wife, just because she can't have children isn't emotional, it's dumb. And when it comes to aborting a baby, men will not say it's okay because they're emotional. They will say it because they are being cowards and are not man enough to take their responsibility.
Being a pro-abortion man and forcing abortion are two different things. Running away from responsibility can be a reason for forcing abortions, but it does not mean that all pro-abortion men support abortion because they want to run away from responsibility.
As Bint-e-NAeem said that women start sharing a bond with baby as soon as they realise that there is a baby, whereas for a guy affection part hits when baby comes into this world.
Since in early pregnancy there is a no strong emotional bond between and baby and man, in comparison to baby & woman's bond, it is much easier for man to make a choice under the circumstances.
I'm not sure whether the original premise is statistically valid, but, if it is, your explanation sounds very reasonable.
Pathetic. You're suggesting that we should be okay with gay marriage and abortions regardless of the fact that it's haram in our deen.
I don't presume to speak for NaMaan, but I, personally, wouldn't suggest you should accept gay marriage and abortion for yourself. If it is haram in your deem, don't get gay-married or have an abortion. But don't ban it for others, who may not consider it haram in their deen.
So gay-marriage and abortion are allowed in Judaism or Christianity?
Different denominations of Judaism and Christianity see these issues differently. And then, there are obviously other religions and non-religious people as well.

Why, did I stop* you* from getting married to a homo or did I stop you from aborting your child?
I was talking about those who follow religion of Islam, I don't care what others do, seriously.
I'm not looking forward to start a debate with an atheist on moral issues but just to let you know that In Islamic Law under some circumstances a woman is allowed to abort the baby, if her life is in danger for keeping the pregnancy or if pregnancy is in a very early stage (usually before 6 weeks).

I was referring to situations like California Proposition 8 or similar. How would you vote, if you were living in California?

Why? You don't believe in universal moral values, or any other morality except the one prescribed by Islam? You don't think that atheists can be moral?
I may also suggest that not all Muslims share you perspective regarding gay marriage and abortions. Just like in any other religions, there is a variety of opinions.

I've never heard about it. What is it?

I believe in Universal Moral Values but I follow the Islamic Rulings on moral issues, two very different things but very same at the same time and I hope you don't have a problem with this.
You don't think that atheists can be moral?
Not my concern. :)

Rulings on Homosexuality and Abortion are very clear in Holy Qur'an and almost all the opinions are same in all the Islamic schools of thought, if a Muslim denies Quran and Sunnah then I sure have a right to at least ask the reason.
^^ No I don't . As scholar in video said . But I am confused about victims of rape and incest . Do you have authentic Hadees or reference regarding that ?

In these situations the woman can abort the pregnancy before 40 days. Some scholars say before 120 days.
There are few articles on Islamonline and sunnipath with ahadith and fiqhi rulings.
A woman is allowed to abort the foetus in certain situations like
1) Rape
2) Incest
3) Sexual interference with the mentally retarded
4) Foetal deformity for e.g.. anencephaly (no brain)
5) Foetal deformity for e.g.. congenital rubella health.
It is a ballot proposition run during the last US election, which proposed an amendment to California constitution effectively banning same-sex marriages in California. The issues of the same-sex marriage and abortion rights are a part of an ongoing legal debate in the US. So, how would you vote?
Would you support a state-wide legal prohibition on what you believe is haram?

I do understand what you are trying to say. I intend to address it later.

Well, you've made an issue about me being an atheist. Apparently, you do have an opinion about it, don't you?

I'm not an expert in Quran, but could you cite Quran verses that explicitly forbid same-sex marriages and abortion?
I can tell you right here that there are no such prohibitions in the Bible, either Old or New Testament.

Is there anywhere in your Athestic constitutions preventing me from spitting in your Prime Minister's face and to be arrested for it? But you know if i try this I'd be arrested so your question is silly.
But they are about me and therefore concern me, don't they?

I have to disappoint you. Atheists don't have a Prime Minister or a Constitution.
There are state laws in some countries, however, that prohibit spitting into other person's face, whoever this person might be. Hey, personal attacks are not allowed even on this forum.
How about my original question though?

They don't unless you can't tolerate my opinion.

Show me these laws verbatim if you can. I'm sure you cannot. The answer to this question will give you your answer to the original question.
I was reading a book about abortion and I came across an interesting statistically proven fact, that men are more Pro-Abortion than Women . I was always under the impression that men are more pro-life .
I wasn't satisfied so I asked my apartment-mates that if their gf gets pregnant unplanned then will they take abortion as an option ? and they said Yes . When I asked about the wife then one of said Yes and the other one said No .
I think I am still confused that why men are more pro-abortion than women . Is it just running away from responsibility or something deeper that I can't figure out .
Why are you confused about men being more pro-abortion? Women tend to have greater nurturing instincts than men in general. And many even choose to raise the illegitimate child no matter how challenging the circumstances. Premarital sex and adultery are soooo common all over the world. And many guys are just looking for a good time. Wham bam, thank you ma'am, rendez-vous and then I'm through with you. They don't want the responsibility of raising a child. So, it shouldn't at all be surprising that the gender with the greater sexual urges would be more inclined towards a pro-abortion stance.
And if you're still surprised. Then you should try watching the many desi dramas and movies where the girl tells the guy that she's pregnant. And the GUY is usually the FIRST ONE to suggest an abortion.
