Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Maybe you are right, let me tone it down a bit.

I love my family, I take care of them, I respect people not their status or skin color or religion, I pay my dues, I contribute to the society I live in, I do participate in charity whenever I can, I don't hate or hurt people, I don't make fun of unfortunate people. I don't do illegal things. I try to be as humble as I can. I do not judge people. I dont have a desire to make everyone like me.

So I don't require repentance.

If it still reeks of arrogance you are more than welcome to correct me. I am not trying to brag but thats the way it is.

Pride is not a bad thing but I am not proud. If I say that the way I live my life or way which I follow is the best, that will be Egoistic and Proud and Arrogant and Ignorant remark.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

We are talking about intellectual property over here. Owning a label is a different issue, even though it does come under copyrights.

You cannot use the label because you didn't buy it. On other hand the book (using a halaal example) that you buy becomes your property.

The entire notion of intellectual property is something that is alien to Islam. I'd like to type down my points here, but that's gonna make the post very extensive and this is not the appropriate forum. Will open a thread on it in religion and we can continue the discussion there, if you like.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Phatty I have been on Junaid and rest oof vital signs case about stolen music since before junaid became religious. The ony real response I got was from Salman Ahmed on that issue.

The religious critique is based on the premise that if he can dish it out like he did when he bashed Salman Ahmed recently, he should look into his own garebaan as well.

We do have bigger issues to deal with in Pakistan indeed.

the rest of the discssun is educational, even if we take Junaid out of the picture e.g. copyrights, or setting up halal businesses with haram money etc

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

when you buy a cd, you are buying the ability to listen to the music when you want and where you want, you can not steal it.

using a book example, if I buy a book, I am buying to read it, not to plagiarise half of it and release it as my own book. I am certain that is not allowed.

That is an excellent idea, it would become more educational and taking junaid out of the equation here, although potentially using as an example we would be able to discuss it more broadly.

I would like to point out that from a religious perspective I have heard points for and against intellectual property.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Correction, book may become your property, however, the content never does, its is protected by copyright laws. I dont think there is any need to defend his actions, because you cannot. He just needs to come clean and move on.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

don't expect a person to be an Angel rightway .. atleast he had started from some point and may correct his other shortcomings in future. instead of appreciating a person, people try to find flaws in him.. is it really necessary to degrade someone who had apparently started practicing OR trying to practice Good?
does he have to come forward and say to you 'yes Mr fraudia, i have apologized for the stolen music' ? he may have done it already or he may do it in future.. he may do it in private or in public you never know... but in a meantime you are just benefiting your self with nothing but the doubts and allegations ..khamkhawa ka Gunnah aapne sir??( you are the one whose music he had stolen?)
i heard he had a very tough time after he was out from this music industry and he wasn't making any money from this business. not atleast to pay his kids school fees and he had to put them from private to public schools. maybe now he is Not using the money he had from the music business... aakhir kissi per shak kiyon??

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Junaid jamshed is at the moment doing his tableeghi jamaat rounds in england and was at a local mosque here.........
i kept tleling my mamu to ask him for discount vouchers or someat...........

n apparantly there were allsorts of weirdos ( accordiung to teh mosque) turn up n they figured it was because of JJ sahib along with Saeed Anwar n saqlain Mushtaq:)

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

yourfriend nay farmaya

don't expect a person to be an Angel rightway .. atleast he had started from some point and may correct his other shortcomings in future. instead of appreciating a person, people try to find flaws in him.. is it really necessary to degrade someone who had apparently started practicing OR trying to practice Good?

good so if he wants to correct his shortcomings, I have listed some that he may want to think about. So when he gets up and mouths off against salman Ahmed who gets more good accomplished in one month than Junaid has managed to do in his entire life..he should realize that he is not infallible either.

my big concern and issue with him has been about the copied music. He was among the ppl in fornt of the line screaming for copyright laws when ppl were making illegal copies of his cds and selling them, the hypocrisy was too much for me to handle.

There are others..alamgir copied "in mein nay toh deha tha" etc
Tehseen javed "dilbur jane mun" is the copy of a turkish song etc etc.

If I wanted to bash him for his past life, I would have done it, not only was he a pal of my cousin at UET, but when friends with another cousin in US, so I know all about his extracurriculars, but have not made it an issue ever since he openly gave that all up, without ofcourse saying what all he was giving up.

*does he have to come forward and say to you 'yes Mr fraudia, i have apologized for the stolen music' ? he may have done it already or he may do it in future.. he may do it in private or in public you never know... *

You know he is a public figure and a supposed role model, he needs to be open about this stuff, if he is using his fame to show kids some path, he needs to state that he was wring and that he has made ammends and he has resolved it, him dodging something just shows the lack of will on his part to even acknowledge something wrong that he did.

Would you like for me to get a dated letter from a band that he stole music from saying that they have not heard any apologies or that there have been any attempts to resolve this? I mean it could be done. I had spoken to all 3 artists mgmt in 2000 when I had first decided to write about it.

*but in a meantime you are just benefiting your self with nothing but the doubts and allegations ..khamkhawa ka Gunnah aapne sir??( you are the one whose music he had stolen?) *

there are no allegations, fact of the matter is that the music was stolen, and fact of the matter is that it has not been addressed. Its not my music, but its just the principle...you can not and should not steal music.

**
i heard he had a very tough time after he was out from this music industry and he wasn't making any money from this business. not atleast to pay his kids school fees and he had to put them from private to public schools. maybe now he is Not using the money he had from the music business... aakhir kissi per shak kiyon??**

I also heard that in 2002 when he showed up for a concert in US he said that he was doing it because he ran out of money. dude if music is haram and what nots then u cant just pick it up when you want to.

Shak kyun, because he was dodgy back then, and he is dodgy now. His lack of will to address this stuff shows his hypocrisy and then the question remains what else is he doing thatis dodgy, how can he be trusted now.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

You dont need to explain or prove anything to me. You can be anything, for all I care.

Iam not here to judge you. You can save your arguments for Him who will.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

:hehe:

Actually I was hoping that someone should note that.

I intentionally used the same words, because Junaid Jamshed actually addresses like this. And I have noticed this earlier too.
koi derh do saal pehley he appeared on a tv show and was giving interview to a mod-girl type hostess. And he was in beard and shalwaar kurta …

So the girl was trying very hard to pose as burger and asking questions in minglish, and JJ was giving answer in very … ahem cordial/friendly way
He was like

Acha dekho, main tumhain batata hoon …

Haan ye ju tum ne poocha Vital Signs ki dosry album ka tu un dino …

I was like Abey, Ye teri khala ki beti hai Ya pRossan ? Baat kaisay kar raha hai :mudhosh:
Then I realized he talks like that with younger people

Fraudia Saab, wait for me, I 'll be back :smooth:

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Fraudia sahab Aap mahaan ho ! Maan gaye Jawab nahi apka bhi :k:

Now I ask memebers, Do you folks think that it is a rip off ?

Come on, these two are totally different beats and music.

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

And regarding silk Kurta thingie, I am disappointed that no one pointed out the mistake specially those folks who spend considerable amount of time in religion forum… :nook:

Muslim Men are not allowed to use Silk and cloth made of silk although for Women, it is allowed. Because cloths made of silk are veryyyyyy expensive and it is very soft and silky, so obviously people who are Jaddi pushti Raees can afford it. For example Arab Shaikhs etc.

The silk which is used in Pakistan or other poor countries is senthetic and produced in factories it is called china silk, boski , raw silk etc. Comparining it with real silk is like comparing gold with copper

And If khudanakhawsta Fraudia sahab gave fatwa ke bebeyo ye ju tum immitation jewlery pehenty ho ispar bhi zakat diya karo ! Our phir hamari naik bibeyoon ke pal’ley se tu kuch nahi jana albatta zakat ki adayegi ke leye husband becharey ka Vespa frokhat ho jaye ga hathoon haath :chupki:

Re: Abey O Junaid Jamshed, Zalim !

Fraudz, as Code_Red pointed out this wasn't the first instance. I remember watching the same interview that Code_Red mentioned. It didn't sound very nice.

I still think 'aap' sounds heck a lot more polite and decent than 'tu', 'tum', and the like with strangers.
