Chacha Fraudia...Islam, Hajj, Hijrah and Tauba wipe out all previous sins.
And none has any right to question anyone, who's done sincere tauba and has reformed himself, of his previous sins.
I agree with the silk clothing part though. He needs to stop that, if he's still selling silk kurtas.

even if we dont discuss it in the context of junade, from whatI have been told a tauba without an attempt to undo the ills one has caused is not really a sincere tauba. btw does tauba have to be done publically? or can one do secret tauba and be absolved of sins?
and its not just tauba, doesn't it make sense to go back and fix something if your tauba is really sincere. I actually talked to various scholars on this topic .. not for Junade but for myself.. If I have done something that hurt someone or impacted someone, even if I do tauba I shoudl really go back and try to fix things, and try to make it right.
also what if one continues to do something that is wrong after doign tauba?
an example would be lets just say u and i are business partners, I embezzle all your money and take off, u lose your house, your livelihood everything. while I am living like a king. a few years later I find God, I go do hajj umrah and tauba, but I have built an empire from the illgotten money, and you contiue to languish in poverty and I say hey I dont need to do anything, I am forgiven because i repented. somehow does not seem right.
actually there are 3 points here, las one I had not brought up because this had been a light hearted thread.
1) selling stuff that is not allowed, I mean unless he is only selling silk kurtas to non muslims, but that takes me back to discussions on this site about sellign alcohol but to non muslims or pork products only to non muslims.. but i guess there is no argument in this thread thus far.
2)Junade may have done Tauba, but had he approached the artists whose music his band stole, they would have asked for royalty. they did not get that royalty, so he owes them that..
3) most tableeghis consider music haram, he built his business based on money that was made from music. Now n this site ppl have said that if you mke money from haram means, lottery, gambling whatever, you can not really use it, and if you give it away, dont expec sawaab, but do give it away. I can give him benefit of doubt that the business was started from other money that did not come from his music earnings, although the store was created while he was still singing so that is unlikely. anyways, if we give him the benefit of the doubt that the store was from non music money, then teh store is fine but he needs to give up everything he has procured from music (read: haram) income.

Fraudia, while I agree with most of your points, my initial post was made in response to your claim that he owes royalty to those artists.
That is something which i dont agree with you on, as the whole "copyright" issue is unIslamic, and besides...even if he pays them off, its more likely that the money will be invested in music, which is haraam as you've rightly stated.
Giving away the money, that he earned from Haraam sources is definetly the best thing to do.

he can easily reach out to them and agree to donate the agreed upon sum to a charity of mutual choice. the problem is that he does not even want to acknowledge the issue.
if copyright issue is unislamic, i guess I can start selling junaidjamshed label clothes…and he should not have an issue with it…you think he will like that

aside from one tu in the first post, which really was not derogatory i only saw Tu beng used incorrecty instead of “toh” e.g. at one place when codey said Abey* tu** phir wo dosroon ko keyon kehta hia ke sasta karo*
now if you look at it , it is not Tu, but Toh, roman urdu has issues. so its Toh as in "so’ and not tu as in “you” ..
putting aap in place of that tu (toh) would change the entire meaning of the message.
