Silly question maybe, but I have heard that one of the signs of Qayamat is that there will be a leader of Arabia (or muslims, etc) named “Abdullah”. They say that this is a sign that Imam Mahdi will be here soon.

His name will be Muhammad Bin Abdullah and he will be the Mujaddid of that century.
According to ahaadeeth, he will come before Isa:as: at the time when there will be a civil war in progress in the Arabian peninsula after the sudden death of the King. He will flee from Madinah and will go to Makkah for the fear that people will want him to be a king and he would not want. He will be recognized by Abdaals of the time in Harmen Shareefen.
Isa:as: will pray Faj’r behind him after descending on the eastern minaret of the Mosque of Damascus.
According to all these ahaadeeth it is obvious that Isa:as: and Mehdi:rehm: are two different personalities as oppose to the Ahmedi faith.

I've read quite a lot on this whole Mehdi issue. They have everything spelt out -- his name, the words he will say, the attire he shall wear, right down to what he'll look like. There are gazzilions [and some quite contradictory] sayings associated with the Prophet for this supposed saviour of the world. I mean ALL of it can not be true, and I really doubt if our Prophet was the kind to spell out things such as looks, signs etc. of specific people in the future.

May be Baab AL Malaahim in Saheeh Bukhari and many other things might not be conceivable for you either. Rasoolulah:saw: was given the knowledge of future ONLY what ALLAH:swt: gave him. There are numerous ahaadeeth to this very fact.

Mehdi will be in Madinah according to ahaadeeth, not in Qadiyaan
Mehdi will be the person whom people will look to become a King.
When he will be declared Mehdi in Kaba’tullah, three armies from three different directions will march towards his army, only one of which (From the Khurasaan) will go to aid him.
There are 100 of others… naming is not going to get you anywhere…

Thank you Skhan, Bollybuster and Armughal. I have read so many forcasts in Quran, by Allama Iqbal, By Shah Walli Ullah and in Hadiths. I collected the qualities and found in him.
Now have a look at this phrase. In this, no name is mentioned, just the qualities. And it is also forced not to go after names.
**Khullay jatay hain Israr-e-Nehaani
Geya daor-e-Hadith-e-luntarani
Howi jis ki khudi pejlay namudar
Wohi mehdi, wohi aakir-e-Zamani
Allama Iqbal
** Means that now everything is open and vivid. There is no more ignorance. Everything is clear and even so many secrets are open now.
Luntarani means “You Cant See” It was addressed to Mosa :as: when he asked Allah to show hisself. Then Allah said, Luntarani “You cannot see”. It is taken as Istaa-ra and now used in the phrase that there is nothing left impossible and you can see everything now, so clear. In last two lines, it is said, that who will keep his attitude and will not lean towards worldly requirements and will follow Allah’s laws to do Jihad, he will be Mehdi.
