i'm moving it to Business and Economics for now, but I really don't see how it fits into a Pakistani Discussion Forum.
Isn't India and Premji part of the global economy referred below?
Business & Economics:
The place to talk about latest market trends in global economy and finance. Share the hottest tips on the stock market or discuss the newest economic theories. Join in and be part of our economic elite.
Following from the article is quite noteworthy.
Noteworthy
During our meeting with him in Bahrain, Premji did not talk much about his company, wealth or future plans. Instead, he opted to talk about technical education and the role played by qualified human resources in the progress of nations. He proudly said that his country's universities would see 300,000 engineers graduate by the end of this year, in addition to 220,000 technical personnel, allowing his firm and other businesses to expand.
What is noteworthy, at the end, is Azim Hashim Premji's religious background. He, as his name indicates, belongs to India's Muslim minority. The fact that he has been able to reach such high levels of prestige, wealth and influence in a country that is accused by some of discriminating against Muslims, refutes such accusations.

I wonder that too.. how it fits in a Pakistani Discussion forum.. I would rather like to see Indians post anything that that relates to Indian Pakistani trade.. but on second thoughts Indians discussing Indian economy on Pakistani forum is in itself interesting :)
^ learn something.. shabbash!!
The reason why indians like to discuss their economy on a pakistani site is very obvious i.e. a desperate attempt to impress our community about their achievements. I suspet there is one more reason behind this unproductive effort i.e. when indians compare their achievements against a half communist country like china, the anxiety levels reach Himalayian proportion. Therefore, this attempt to achieve false comfort by comparing themselves with a country that is 1/5th of their size. Their ability to distinguish between apples and oranges is very poor indeed!!

u maen expert in Indian economics or Indian politics?
The concept of politics and economics are not state driven attributes, unless we are talking the Khilafah. Fortunately, we are talking real world examples here not some foggy ideal.

Hi Matsui!
I am a new member of this forum. Unfortunately, i find the above paragraph extremely fogging!!! With one stroke of genius, u have thrown out of window, all the economic literature about fiscal and monetary policies of the state.
If u think state does not drive politics and economics, you must be living on a very lonely island!! If your contention is true, would u mind telling me why everybody so eagerly await fed decision on interest rates! The state may not be effective in a ** baboo** driven country like india, but please don't apply your generalizations to rest of the world.
Thank you
^ Economics and politics are not sole propriety of the state. The emphasis should be placed on 'driven". Obviously there is a role the state plays in maitaining the fundamentals of a country strong. That should be conventional wisdom. But last I checked, Alan Greenspan didn;t belong to either the Republican or dems in his capacity at the Fed.
BTW/ Those babus (do learn to spell it correctly ) are poised to grow at 8-10% a year as per Mckinsey for the coming 5 years.

We can only take the horse to the pond. Beyond that you gotta do it yourself
Hi Matsui!
The question whether Greenspan is a democrate or republication betrays a lack of fundamental knowledge about this important institute of America. I suspect you have been working too long with that Gujrati Seth in Mumbai to be well versed in such matters. Fed Chairman is a political appointee with fixed term and independent powers. However, like judges(pls don't ask the stupid question whether they are democrates or republications) their political background plays a part at the time of their initial appointment or later renewal.
Look, the word baboo is a noun translated from a foreign language. I suggest you consult the rules regarding their spelling in a basic book teaching english. I hope you don't want to serve the role of a dumb spell check program, and cry murder each time somebody misplaces and "i" or an "o" in a word. It would be a waste of your value time and mine too.
Whether they are baboos or babus, the only art they practice is voodoo economics. Tell me how many of indian states have defaulted on the salaries to their employees? Do you want me to gamble my hard earned dollars on the figures provided by such a disgruntled lot. Stop smoking that funny stuff please.
For Tom!
When indians start talking about horses and ponds, i began to understand their pains. A thousand years history of enslavement and subservience make you dream about your masters' toys!!! Horse is not a native animal of india. I would suggest you stick with more native things like cows and their waste, you will feel much more at home!!!
Take care fellows
Thank you for proving my point that the FED, in its drive to control monetary policy, is verymuch independent of the influence of the party in power. If it was a dictatorship, one would have to assume that such freedom would not be there. (Yuan is woefully undervalued)You are comparing the judiciary, which has review power over the legislative and executive happeneings with the FED????????
No that you can spell. You also might google your self silly and find out about balance of payment crises for states /regions in India, China, US, etc.
The original discussion and my response was related to whether posting news about Indian economy or happenings are unwaraanted because they are from an Individual country or whether discussion around economics and politics are the domain of Pakistan, since this is a pakistani board.
Wall street is moving 1 million jobs by 2008 to India, Says D &T, in todays NYTimes.
Hi Matsui!
It is obvious you are suffering from selective amentia!!! You ignored my post relating to political background of Fed Chair totally.
May i suggest you consultant a dictionary before typing such basic words as NOW it is not NO?
"You also might google your self silly and find out about balance of payment crises for states /regions in India, China, US, etc."
I tried hard but could not find an iota of sense here. What is your question or assertion here?? Should i attribute this to poor communication skills or incoherent thinking!!!
Give me one example of a nation that became great by doing dirty work of somebody else at cut throat prices!!! India is a cheer leader of a race to bottom! Again the 1000 years history of being slaves does not help.
Wait till Phillippines, Sri Lanka, Russia, and China start undercutting your prices. Shouldn't the greatness of a nation be based on more solid economic grounds than filmsy subcontracts!!!

LOL..japan and China (soft goods) are two examples. Chinese don't speak eng-rish and Phillipines and Sri Lanka don't have the scale.
<
Might I suggest you "consult" one yourself.
Hi Mitsui!
Japan and China are indulging in manufacturing sector which is far different than answering phone calls for foreign companies. What scale do you need for 100 seat call centre!!!! Phillippines is the only english speaking country in Asia. Watch out they will reach to the bottom before you get there.
Thanks
