Do ABCDs ever grow out of that stage? I've been reading hte namesake and for those of you who've read it, maybe you know what i'm talking about..honestly i thought this confused stuff ended when you hit the real world.. in college and high school and younger maybe its accepted and normal, but i would think once u hit adulthood, it goes awaY? it's not just "confused identity" stuff anymore, its just pure selfishness and ego and immaturity. You expect this stuff from 16 year olds, not 26 year olds :)

Ofcourse. They are confused mostly when they hang out with American kids and when their parents take them to desi parties, they are all confused because they were never introduced to our culture before. But once they move out, hit the adulthood, have more knowledge of their own culture and now live a balanced life style, they are okay.
Ofcourse exceptions are in every case.

That's complete crap. I know plenty of American-Pakistani kids (including myself) who are just fine with who they are, and they're not afraid to let people know about their culture/religion.
