ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

I put it in blog, but did not got any answer to the ‘why’.

They always putting down pakistan and its people talking $hit n whatnot. Lookout for every single bad news that comes out of the country and then discuss it to death with a conclusion that the country and its people are inherently at fault and stuff.

When it comes to india and indians, they come first to defend them and soon after defending the indians they again start dissing pakistanis how they are narrowminded, hateful, ignorant, overly zealous and all that.

I even heard some claim to be Indian (and don’t disclose paksitani connection)

Does it have something to do with indians being more respected in west than pakistanis - hence pakistanis trying to cozy up to them?

or is it that those are people who belong to ethnic classes who were dissident in Pakistan (wanting sindhu desh or jinnahpur) etc?

or is it that since their ancestors moved to pakistan only during partition, they don’t feel much for the pakistani connection - rather they cherish and identify their indian heritage?

I don’t get it why is it like that? :konfused:

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

Please give example. Links would helpful.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

And I will get the pitchforks ready.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

It's some sort of inferiority complex.

Inexplicable.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

I hope you are strictly talking about American Pakistanis here, not all NRP communities!

In UK, we have a Kashmiri/Mirpuri diaspora that can be anti Pakistan at times, but that's largely because they see themselves belonging to independent Kashmiri region/community, and secondly, they feel quite intimidated by urban Pakistanis. But those people are all too aware of India brutalities in Indian occupied Kashmir to pretend as Indians or bail them out do some serious ass kissing.

I was at Kashmiri friend house where the dad quickly made a call back home because there was a breaking news on TV that Indian forces have started firing into Kotli, Azad Kashmir. Plus you always hear how people from other side of the valley can often hear firing going in the other side. So no special love for India there.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

you’re either an indian-hating true, patriotic pakistani or you’re a kiss arse, western policy condoning traitor. god forbid you might come across someone who carries a somewhat balanced perspective on both countries. my source and evidence? just scroll down general if you’re not into dat PA/WA scene.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

Looking at that thread, most comments saying how India is getting extreme (mine included) were from Guppies sitting in UK/USA, so your post is way off mark and hence maybe why you got no adequate response in your blog.

As for India 'love in', it isn't restricted to ABCD or resident Pakistanis, our singers/players run off to India at the smell of $$$$. Our board is running around begging BCCI for matches, a party now with proven links to RAW is still tolerated in Pakistan, our PM has many business links to Indian companies, imagine their PM having the same. Till we collectively grow a spine India will continue to take the p*ss out of us on every international forum.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

there is never a middle-ground for some.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

Yes, Indians are respected more in West. Indian are patriot with their homeland. Recent visit of Modi visit at Facebook headquarter in Silicon Valley is open example. Though Modi’s past was not hidden to anyone, but he was treated like a PM. India has credibility on international forum because their leaders are leaders and they are sincere somehow with their land. Unlike Pakistani leader who half a time took their whole family on foreign visit. Less than a leader than a businessman type of mentality. Indian leaders work for the betterment of their people.

Sindhudesh, and Jinnahpur… :nook: This is very typical view from certain people of our country.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

This is any thing but balance.
Seems like you balanced one lose balance more often, then non balanced ones.
Why is that?

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

Not to mention the obsession of mostly Pakistanis (in Pakistan) with Bollywood/Indian Dramas and songs etc. Lets not talk about Indian traditions applied in Pakistani weddings and other events now even including college functions. And absolutely dont say that there 4-5 channels only showing Indian movies 24x7 on cabel TV while rest of the indian channels are separate. And families dont call cable wala to request wut indian movie they want to watch.

But ya lets generalize all American Pakistanis and yell at them who call spade a spade and thus declared traitor in the end!!

To add to it, Sonia Gandhi wasnt pointing towards ABCDs when she said India doesnt need to fight with Pakistan, they have already won the war thru their cultural sweep. Go figure.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don’t get it.

Well it is not Pakistanis fault that Pakistani Prime Minister hides away from Pakistanis community whenever he’s in UK/US. Modi goes out to meet the Indian diaspora, Sharif doesn’t - whether he’s in USA, UK or in Middle East.

Indian Prime Minister doesn’t carry the baggage of grabbing power through stolen votes. Indians are quite proud of the fact that they had popularly elected Modi (even if he’s a mass murderer and religious extremist). How many Pakistanis (especially the overseas) can say same about Nawaz Sharif or Zaradri?

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

I might get crucified for this - but it has to be said, Pakistanis who return form visiting Karachi are far more bitter, pessimistic and generally negative than people returning from other parts. I think this feeling mainly stems from daily violence and poor law and order situation which had been pretty bad for so long compare to other larger urban hubs of Pakistan (barring Peshawar). They have a tendency to think that whatever is happening in Karachi is happening all over 'Pakistan' which is incorrect. Someone who would return from his stay in Kohat, Abbottabad, Pindi would strongly disagree with that.

Similarly, from my family those who spend most of their time in Islamabad in Pakistan sound far more relaxed and de-stressed than those that return from hustle bustle of Lahore.

So I'd really for overseas Pakistanis, the kind of place(s) they visit really does form the whole basis of their perception of Pakistan.

Some of us really should try to visit as many places as we can to get a more well rounded picture of the country.

Re: ABCD Pakistanis in love with India - I just don't get it.

Sure. So the big problems of the world are USA then Karachi. Thanks!
