Re: Abbottabad Raid

Arshad what doesn't make sense in all this conspiracy theory is the the surviving family of Osama who were left behind after the the whole episode.. and interrogated by Pakistani investigators for months before sending them to their native countries. Unless the whole Pakistani military leadership was a part of this conspiracy to defame Pakistan.. this fabrication could not have happened. Moreover it was too much of a political risk for Obama to fabricate all this drama and leave Osama family behind with Pakistanis.. you can imagine Pakistani military officials could have brought down the whole Obama government if they would have presented Osama family to the media with any alternate account of the raid.. I suggest you to use your brain before defending these useless conspiracy theories..

Re: Abbottabad Raid

I am not doubting the official account, I am stating that the government should present its evidence to the public after spending billions, having lost thousands of soldiers and also having killed tens of thousands of people. The onus is on the US government to present the evidence that it has to the public.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Poora sach
Jo kabhi kabhi ,,,,,,,,,

Re: Abbottabad Raid

The family could have been offered an option to go through with the story and in return they could be free and in their own countries.

Pakistan did not detect the helicopters, it did not launch its fighters in the air in time, it did not pursue the helicopters, the army and local police did not arrive at the compound, there was a power blackout in the whole area at the time of the incident so there could well be collusion between US and the top leadership of Pakistan i.e Zardari and Kiyani. People like Pakistani ambassador to UK did make statements that Pakistani leadership knew of the raid in advance.

Also this Afridi DNA story seems to be a red herring.

Brigadier Ali Khan stating that his removal and imprisonment is linked to Abbottabad raid.](http://dawn.com/2013/01/22/raid-on-osamas-compound-army-officer-wants-to-share-information-with-lhc-2/)Raid on Osama

Raid on Osama’s compound: Army officer wants to share information with LHC

RAWALPINDI, Jan 21: Brigadier Ali Khan, who was court martialed for having links with a banned organisation after American Navy Seals raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound on May 2, 2011, has petitioned Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi, claiming to have vital information on the raid.

In the petition, Brig Ali has requested the court to provide him an opportunity to appear in person so he could explain his position.

Brig Ali has also written letters to President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and is presently incarcerated in Adiala jail.

Court martial
Brig Ali along with four other officers was court martialed after the May 2 raid for having links with Hizbut Tahrir (HuT), an organisation that is against the US occupation of Afghanistan and propagates the setting up of a pan-Islamic caliphate.

The field general court martial (FGCM) on August 3, 2012 convicted Brig Ali Khan, Maj Sohail Akbar, Maj Jawad Baseer, Maj Inayat Aziz and Maj Iftikhar for having links with HuT and awarded rigorous imprisonment (RI) ranging from 18 months to five years.

LHC petition
Brig Ali on February 2012, through his lawyer Col (retired) Inamur Rahim, had filed an application with the LHC requesting the court to arrange his presence during the hearing of the case because he wanted to share with the court some vital information regarding his petition filed against his detention and court martial proceedings.

Vital information
Advocate Rahim, the counsel for Brig Ali after filing the application, told Dawn that in addition to briefing the court about his own case, Brig Ali would share information related to May 2 incident (Abbottabad raid) with the court.

According to the counsel, the convicted officer is facing imprisonment because the army authorities fabricated a false case against him after he openly criticised the US operation on Pakistani soil.

Abbottabad commission’s indifference
The counsel said that Brig Ali, on September 2012, had requested the Abbottabad commission headed by Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal to record his testimony in connection with the May 2 incident but was not facilitated.

According to the counsel, Brig Ali was a direct victim of the Abbottabad operation because military authorities arrested him on May 5, 2011, after he raised questions about the raid and also suggested remedial measures to avoid such incidents in future.

Letters to President and COAS
The counsel said that for the case the court would arrange Brig Ali’s presence on the next date of hearing — to be decided by the court — where he would reveal the content of his letters which he sent to the president and COAS.

In the letters sent before his arrest, Brig Ali had suggested ending the war against terror and bridging the gap between the army and people.

He wrote: “Senseless blood-letting, permanent dissensions, bitter alienations and badly bruised national pride — there is nothing that comforts our soul. Rampant insecurity, political polarisation, instability and resultant economic downturn that started alongside the Global War on Terror (GWOT) and which culminated in a crisis of sorts have brought the nation virtually to its knees.”

The brigadier further wrote: “Our friends (allied powers) succeeded in creating differences between Pakistan and Muslim countries in general and with Afghanistan and Iran in particular — as our borders with both the countries are no longer safe. Above all the war created an unbridgeable gulf between the army and the nation.”

In his letters he suggested that instead of continuing with Pakistan’s current policy, policymakers should persuade US/Nato forces that the only way to bring peace in Afghanistan is to change the US/Nato forces with peacekeeping forces from Muslim countries under UN aegis.

In case US/Nato refuses to do so, Pakistan should cease all operations in the troubled area (tribal areas bordering Afghanistan).

The registrar office of LHC Rawalpindi bench accepted the petition and the court will examine the request of Brig Ali for providing him an opportunity to appear in person next week.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

The problem with Arshad5 is that he gets an orgasm each time he finds any news against USA.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

I guess in that case I might as well enjoy myself with the USA, since the next few months on tour will mean that I wouldn't be getting an orgasm with the news of USA at least.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Whatever floats your boat :D

Re: Abbottabad Raid

@Arshad5.. too much wild imagination. Why would Pakistani army and political leadership go to such an extreme to embarrass themselves. First you were suspecting conspiracy by Americans and now you suspect the whole Pakistani army and political leadership is a part of this conspiracy. Can you imagine the consequences for Obama if he made such a plan in which he presumed that Pakistani army, President, and Osama's family will become a part of this conspiracy.. and he gambled his whole political future and career on these assumptions that nothing will ever leak out.. If Obama took such a risk like as are suggesting.. I think he will be exposed sooner or later as such a thing can not hide forever. I don't consider Obama to be such a dumb person..

Abbottabad Raid

The thing is; Obama did lie about the account of killing Osama. The true account was exposed in a book by a navy seal who actually went on the kill mission...and it was barely like the actual account.

So the pentagon chose to go after the seal and tried to shut it down on the excuse of revealing state secrets. So they did likely get bin laden; but it was nothing as magnificent as they have told and embellished for the public and the media.

Also, according to people in the airforce, apparently they did detect the helicopters but they were commanded not to react, possibly due to confusion, or cowardice, or both. Who knows. Or perhaps that was just an excuse to cover their embarrassment.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Lying about details is something but lying about the not getting Osama is another. It would have cost Obama everything including his Presidency.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Since we are all talking about conspiracy theories regarding Osama Bin laden?

Can any one tell me if he ever existed? :p

Re: Abbottabad Raid

I believe this conspiracy theory that Osama bin Laden was alive, old and frail due to his illness and thus incapable to run Alqaeda. He was living in plain sight in Abbotabad (near Kakul) and his house which was conspicuous by its construction did not have any escape route. That means he did not expect to be killed in that safe locality. There’s a report that Pakistan had kept him under house arrest in return for Saudi cash. Win win situation for all concerned. Maybe the US also knew about this arrangement. There are some reports of Pakistani military coming to the neighbors of OBL asking them to turn off their lights on the day of the attack. The attack seems to be pre-planned. Maybe Obama wanted to close this chapter to sell his pull out plans from Afghanistan. They’d have killed him and portrayed as if he was killed in a drone strike. One of their helicopters crashed blowing the cover and hence putting Pakistani military in an embarrassing situation.

Osama bin Laden ‘protected by Pakistan in return for Saudi cash’ - Telegraph

Raelynn Hillhouse, an American security analyst, claims his whereabouts were finally revealed when a Pakistani intelligence officer came forward to claim the $25m (£15 million) bounty on the al-Qaeda leader’s head.

Her version, based on evidence from sources in what she calls the “intelligence community”, contradicts the official account that bin Laden was tracked down through his trusted courier.

Pakistani officials have always denied that bin Laden was sheltered or that Islamabad had any knowledge of the secret mission that killed him.

But Dr Hillhouse, who is known for her links to private military contractors that work extensively with the CIA, says Pakistan gave permission for a covert mission which would then be covered up by claiming bin Laden had been killed in a drone strike.

“The [Inter-Services Intelligence] officer came forward to claim the substantial reward and to broker US citizenship for his family,” she writes on her intelligence blog, The Spy Who Billed Me.

“My sources tell me that the informant claimed that the Saudis were paying off the Pakistani military and intelligence (ISI) to essentially shelter and keep bin Laden under house arrest in Abbottabad, a city with such a high concentration of military that I’m told there’s no equivalent in the US.” After confirming bin Laden’s presence in the military town, the US approached Pakistan’s military leaders securing their co-operation in return for cash and a chance to avoid public humiliation.

The theory, if true, would explain how American black hawk helicopters were then able to fly deep into Pakistan territory in May without encountering resistance.

The plan only unravelled when one of the helicopters crash-landed, blowing the cover story.

“The co-operation was why there were no troops in Abottabad,” writes Dr Hillhouse. “It had always seemed very far-fetched to me that a helicopter could crash and later be destroyed in an area with such high military concentration without the Pakistanis noticing.” In the immediate aftermath of the raid, some residents of Abbottabad, where bin Laden had lived for five years, said they had received mysterious visits a night earlier warning them to stay inside with their lights off.

However, a senior Pakistani security official denied that the ISI had sheltered bin Laden.

“We don’t use toilet paper – we wash,” he said. “But toilet paper is all this theory is good for.”

A spokesman for the US department of defense said: “We have no additional operational details, or comments on operational details, to make at this time.”

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Political leadership meaning Zardari was brought back to Pakistan by the US, they then helped him remain in power for 5 years when people expected him to go at anytime. We know that the US does not believe in free lunches so there must have been some agreement that Zardari and PPP will further the agenda of the US. These people have loyalty only to themselves and not Pakistan, they loot the country and then bank it across the world, buy assets abroad and spend their money abroad, and yet come to Pakistan only to enrich themselves further and enjoy the perks and privileges of being the rulers of Pakistan.

The army does not have a lot options and has been marginalised in the last few years. The army is divided between serving Pakistans interests and the interests of US. The US has made a lot of effort on this front. The Chief Of Staff of Musharraf a Lt. General was mysteriously killed in a road accident. General Kiyani happened to be in the right place at the right time to be favoured by Musharraf. Kiyani also had links with PPP.

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Nothing to be surprised , Even i was not surprised when a bomb was found under Hamid Meer's car and Taliban spokesman claimed the responsibility immediately .

Re: Abbottabad Raid

Yazdi bro, you are spending way too much time analyzing the nonsense spewed by Arshad5

Everyone knows he is a conspiracy nutcase

Just let him post his garbage and laugh at him :)

Re: Abbottabad Raid

OK I can believe that Americans can do unethical actions if it is in their national interest. I can also believe that Zardari and Kyani are sold out.. and for the longevity of their tenures, they can actually do such a thing. But Obama would trust unreliable Pakistanis to stage such a drama... and put all his Presidency and career on stake does not make sense. At least this conspiracy theory has very little logical possibility..

Re: Abbottabad Raid

I can’t blame Gen Baig too much here. He was quite polite to begin with but then got irritated by the leechar journalist’s in your face manner bordering on harassment. Any normal person would get irritated by such persistent questioning

The journalist acted like a complete A***ole and got what he deserved in the end. Journalists should also not cross their limits

Re: Abbottabad Raid

I am sure that there would have been a contingency plan as well. This operation was planned for months by the DEVGRU before it actually happened.
