Abayas

Re: Abayas

These are Yemeni and Saudi Abayas. Some of them are very fancy and cost around $200.

Re: Abayas

wow mashAllah seems like lots of u wear abayas…I’m thinking of wearing one too… and I would love to get the first one…in white!

Re: Abayas

seriously girls. What satisfaction do you guys get from wearing these types of clothes. :smack:

Re: Abayas

^ I don't wear them

Re: Abayas

that fact that no matter how hard you ogle you cant see the body.

Re: Abayas

Most likely the satisfaction of being covered up and looking elegant and respectful at the same time, a very rare trait nowadays.

I personally think women in abayas look graceful and elegant

Re: Abayas

:frusty2: :2guns: :kaboom:

Re: Abayas

MQ, maybe I said it wrong. What satisfaction do WE (men) get if you guys keep covering yourself in shapeless dresses. No wonder that desi guys keep marrying goris. How are we suppose to pick a bride if we don't know what her sizes are.

  • runs away from the thread before MQ takes off her sandals and beat up atlanta*

Just kidding baaji, I only kid. Don't take my comments to heart.

Re: Abayas

Re: Abayas

I will post my two abayas later, zara camera mil jaye.

Re: Abayas

not that im tryin to put u down.. great ure gettin them made for so cheap… but did u get ure fabric from pakiland too? cuz i shopped every place imaginable (in karachi).. they just dont have good quality georgette or jersey/georgette needed to make good quality abayas .. the flow is very wrong.. and the texture way off.. even the finest georgette is too thick to be used for abayas, u’ll be steaming!! … if u’ve seen abayas that get made in Saudi Arabia… zameen asmaan ka faraq hai… the sleekness is just not found in the material used for making abayas in Pakistan… i did get one made… it looks blah…also why women living in pakistan prefer abayas from Saudi… just look better… the workmanship is totally different too

and thats also the reason why abayas are so damn expensive.. good quality abayas are made from material shipped in from PARIS, amongst other european cities!! designer fabric like CK, Versace… Valentino… $129 is very right for an abaya (IF its good quality and the fabric used is very fine, embroidery etc)… some abayas here are going for 1000 riyals…

Re: Abayas

^ Khaw did you visit qurtuba market? There is one shop there which has some qulaity stuff. Different designs, good cloths and trust me majority of the ladies from different areas of Karachi come here for abayas, buqas, scarfs etc. I've seen Saudi abayas they are definitely great but I don't like their style. I've never been to different shops of Karachi for abayas 'cuz this single one is fine enough for me.

Re: Abayas

went there too... i guess its our own preferences then :)... im too used to the saudi abaya... dont like the paki styles... and with you, its vice versa..

Re: Abayas

I dont understand. Abayas have never been part of our culture. Why would you want to wear them? Please dont tell me it makes you a better muslim, because you can wear a sari with a hijab and draped right, you can be perfectly covered.

Re: Abayas

^ we wear bikinis and its not part of our culture.

Re: Abayas

Yeah but wearing bikinis isn't an indication of ur piety (Islamic or other religion). People wrongly assume that wearing an abaya makes you a better Muslim...

Re: Abayas

^ Who assumes?
Khaw: Yeah I don't like the front close style of saudia's abayas :o
