i HATE situps so if there are any exercises that are for the abs that you all do that are not anything like situps please let me know what they are. something like this

yes it looks a bit weird and would be funny if somebody walked in on you doing that but hey atleast it isn’t icky situps!
Therez a very good one for your abs. Hang yourself from a bar or a similar thing by grabbing it. Then lift your legs up without bending your knees. You'll have abs in no time!
i have a flat tummy but no muscles there. and Bulld0zer, that hanging from a bar and lifting the legs almost seems the same as situps, situps are gross :p :)
icesoul, i do treadmill and pretty heavily too for an 1 hr to 1 1/2 hr and dance occasionally so that definitely gets the heart pumping

Leg raises are good too. You can go up and down or just hold at different heights (ex 15 seconds high, 15 seconds medium, 15 second low). A variation on leg raises is to life them all the way up and have a partner push your legs back down. You then have to catch your legs and bring them back up again.
Doing crunches whilst on a swiss ball is an excellent way to strengthen the abs, and it's much more effective than regular crunches; because you're on an unstable surface, your abs have to work harder.
no i’m fit and in shape, i do belly dancing but i’ve seen other dancers and their tummy muscles are so visibly awesome looking…damn:p
the thing with situps is that they always hurt my neck, it’s the one exercise i hate doing. there are other ways of doing it to strengthen the ab muscles that make it a lot more fun. i would prefer those any day.
that actually seems like a fun exercise that i would probably enjoy and would keep doing. so you just put a strong board on top of a rolling pin and try and balance yourself right?
Any exercise which requires you to use balance will strengthen your core. I use a bosu ball for most of my weight exercises ie bicep curls, lateral raises, etc. So while I'm working out my arms I'm also using my ab muscles to help stabilize me on the bosu. I do squats and leg exercises on the bosu too, you can pretty much do anything on it. I use the dome side of it but people at my gym who are advanced flip it over and use the platform side which I think is harder to balance on and requires better core strength. I'm not quite there yet.
Also try planks, pretty damn hard but great on your abs. You can do side planks too for your obliques.
