Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
I finally made perfect white rice today!!! :D
BEEF WITH PEPPERS:
boneless beef/chicken...cut into strips....about 2 pounds 1 medium green bell pepper...cut into strips 1 medium red bell pepper...cut into strips 1 tablespoon each of chopped ginger and garlic salt, white peppers, black peppers...acc to taste 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon oyster sauce 1 tablespoon cornflour(dissolved in cold water) cooking oil.....2 -3 tablespoons
*heat oil and fry the ginger garlic for a minute.then add the beef strips.Stir fry it for a few mins, then add the salt aand the black and white peppers plus the o.sauce and the w.sauce.add some water if needed and let it cook till the meat is done.when water is almost dried out and the meat is tender, add the bell peppers and the corn flour mix.cook till the required gravy thickness is reached.(i like the bell peppers with a slight crunch to them so i add them in the end...you can add them before if u like them more tender).Serve.
The tablespoon of cornflour should be dissolved in how much water? about a cup??

No! One cup of water is way too much, probably like 1/4 or a little more like b/w 1/4 and 1/3 cup of water but definately less then half.
can u please post me the recipe!! please

RIYA...as LUSI said, not a cup...1/4th of a cup should be more than enough...:)
SOFIA…
i had some of this marinade/sauce left over in the freezer,so just to put it to use i made these shrimps.
in a pan heat some oil and add some ginger and garlic(crushed)…add the shrimps and the sauce…i also added some crushed red chilli flakes and about a handful of scallions…cook for a few mins till the shrimps are done.
to make some gravy, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch/cornflour in 1/4th cup of cold water and add to the dish…let it cook for a few mins and serve…![]()
the recipe for the sauce/marinade is…

i kinda like the combination of sweet and salty...so it works for me...:)
for this recipe, when i first made the sauce thing i wasn't too sure about ...but when i tried it, its the perfect compliment to fish....and shrimp and chicken too...

Thanks Niksik..it was really spicy though but hubby loved it. usually my cooking is so bland i guess i went a tad overboard today
i used daagh’s manchuriyan chicken recipe that was posted in ur “boneless peices” thread but with a few variations..and i call it chilli chicken ![]()
