Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
got home, made this burrito (kept it simple (cheddar cheese/ keema/ rice ) , then in dessert it had to be something really good, so banana/chocolate ice, with bit sauce on the top. LOVED IT.

Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
Your camera is so awesome that it even makes a popsicle look artsy fartsy lol
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
Although a good camera and a lens help in making the picture better, in this picture of the popsicle, the lighting and setting also made a huge difference. On the roof, I had a lamp whose light i was using along with a canon flash speedlite from the right side, pointing upwards. On the wall behind the ice, there were two more lamps which can't be viewed as the background is blurred (bokeh effect)
The white reflection of the ceiling also added to the effect of the picture, because as mentioned the speedlite flash was pointing up, so lights get reflected. So I had almost up to 3 light sources. Most of my shots are well thought out shots, composition wise and light wise,
...but yaar seriously you do not necessarily need a good camera to get good shots, its hard to explain, I dont want to go into technicalities in this thread....
bas SAB PICTURES POST KARO KHANAY KI!
and thats it, lots of ppl asked me about which camera I have used, bla bla, lets leave all that, and just enjoy and share the food, just like the thread title says.

I did not, in any way, mean to discount your skills by the way. I am simply too lazy to put in that much thought just to snap a shot of my dinner ;)
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
How do you guys make naan at home? Is there a good recipe posted anywhere please?

This is our naan recipe:
4 cups flour
1 tbsp yeast
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp oil
Mix the yeast with some lukewarm water and let it sit for about 5 mins
Then mix all of the ingredients and knead into a soft dough and let it poof for 1-2 hours
After rolling it out, first heat the bottom on the tava and then directly place it on the oven rack with the broiler on. Watch it carefully and turn sides if needed. Butter once they are out of the oven and enjoy!
*** We also sometimes knead the dough with a 1/4 cup of milk or so........it makes the naan more soft; personal choice
