Shinwari/Shanwari Karahi by Chef Shireen Anwar

Ingredients

Chicken 1 kg
... Green chilies 8
Tomatoes slice 1/2 kg
Oil 3/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin, crushed & heaped 1 1/2 tsp

Method

  1. Heat oil, add chicken and fry for ten minutes.
    1. Add ginger garlic paste and slices of tomatoes, cover and cook for ten minutes.
    2. Then add salt, green chilies, roasted crushed cumin and black pepper.
  2. Cook over high flame till chicken is tender and oil comes on top.
    1. Shanwari karahi is ready for serve.

wow recipe looks quite simple! :) Thank you will try that InshAllah! how come some of tomatoes look raw while other are mushy? did you add some later?

Yes very simple and yummy recipe
the red you see are not tomatoes
they are red chillies… the long ones you get
I added red and green mix for the colour

I hate gosht but mama asked me to make her bhuna gosht today so this was my first ever attempt at cooking gosht ka salan.

Mama’s comment: Taste buhat acha hai lekin lamb ko or galana tha zara.

Yeah, I usually let red meat simmer on low for 1 hour because I like it really well done. Looks like a great first try though.
