Fried Shrimp by wifey. She doesn’t eat seafood so I had the honour of finishing it all by myself.
There was some left over maida so we cut up an onion and made onion rings pakoray!
There’s actually alot more than in the pics but I was halfway done eating by the time i thought of taking pictures.

Someone posted a pic of dum ke pasanday a while back (I think it was Reha), and they looked amazing. Can I please get the recipe? Thanks in advance :)
Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya
Here are some of my rare successes in the kitchen:
Honeycomb cheese bread,
Tomato-basil soup,
Gobi qeema,
Anday ka salan (I didn’t have any aloo that day)
Yes, I’m a total beginner with zero skills! As you can see by my choice of easy recipes, haha.

The maash ki daal:
1 cup daal, washed and soaked for an hour with just enough water to cover
2" piece of ginger, 3 green chillies ground together
salt, red chilli powder
1 medium onion
2 cloves of garlic thinly sliced
cilantro
Boil soaked daal with the ground ginger, green chillies ground and salt and red chilli powder with just enough water. As it comes to a boil, you'll see froth on the top. Remove it. Stir well and lower the heat to med-low. Cook covered. Make sure the daal isn't sticking to the bottom. I usually just run my wooden spoon at the bottom of the pan or shake the pan. WHen cooked, grains should be separate and tender. Make tarka of onions and garlic...a little darker brown. Pour over daal. Add cilantro.
For the chicken salan:
This was a quick one. I ground one onion, 4-5 cloves of garlic, a piece of ginger, 2 tomatoes, salt, haldi, dhaniya, mirch, some water, all together. Pour into oil, add chicken, mix and cook on medium. WHen cooked, lower the flame to low-med, cook covered until oil separates. Done!
