i call ladies mem saab which is a solutation of respect [indian log angrezanoN ko mem sab kahte the]. if u don't like it, i'll stop it. sorry
u drain the excess water then all the starch is out and i suppose that makes the rice unsticky and hence fluffier and lighter...it goes wll with "phulka" ... small thin puffed chapaatiis that are folded by pressing against the surfeces. its lucknow preparation :)**
Exactly Indian log ANGRAIZON ko mem saab boltay thay. Mai Angraiz nahi hon Hashmat, hence no mem saab please :)
I know what a "Phulka" is. Its the Indian term for our Roti & Phulkas are smaller in size & really thin & light & most Indians don't put salt in the dough either.
Draining the rice & all that's called "Saday Chawal" in our language. Never heard of the term "Khushka" before.
