yumm!!! I am sooo hungry right now - I am waiting for hubby and kids to return from Sunday school - but I feel like eating up that rice! :slight_smile:

^ same way like we make roti..but for paratha i put lots of Ghee on Tawa and both side of paratha...i think this the way to make it crispy?

11 CUPS OF RICE FOR MY PARTY.
3 PACKETS OF GREEN PEAS AND CARROTS FROZEN.
BIRYANI MASALA.
KHARA MASALA. DAR CHINI. AND CINNAMON STICK.
in a pan heat oil add veges.
khara garam masala.
namak .
lemon juice
ground garam masala
biryani maslala and
soya(dill) keep aisde.

in a separate pan add onion. khara garam masala.
when the onion browns add water like pulao measurement.

add rice and all the vege's. let it cook and do dum like pulao.

in a seprate vessel heat some oil put some cashews. raisins ,gol mirch ,green chili and long lal mirch.mix and heat well and decorate the pulao with this on top. sprinkle some soya(dill). and serve.

what is another substitute for desi ghee? Butter? corn/vegetable oil (err i doubt it?)

what is khoya? whats the english word for it? is it even available in english stores?

sugar = subbed with splenda yes?

any idea of the quantities i should use? how many carrots and how much milk? It will be for 3 adults, preferably none left over.

^^I use crsico shortening instead of desi ghee.I have heard some people use vegetable oil but I am not sure how it will taste.

Khoya...not sure what they call it in English.No not available in regular grocery stores.You can use crumbled barfi instead.I am sure you can find that easily where you live.

I use Splenda for making deserts.To me they taste the same as sugar,but for those who dont like the taste of splenda,it might be an issue.

no no thats not it. u put slight ghee in the "paira" and then roll it in to a circle... ball(twist) wala paratha banati hain na aap?

when u make the circle after inserting a little ghee in it... u then cook it but not smother it all over with ghee... reduce putting ghee... the thin the circle the better it wil be.. thick dough does nto make nice parathas and paratha remains raw(kaccha) and also dont over use the flour.. minimum,... try this

i will try makign a video of how i do it... but in the meantime read this and tell me if u got it

For Gajar Halwa, you can also use ricotta cheese, after your done sauteeing gajjar with sugar/oil etc. I have had it with barfee as well, turns out good
