Par boil (al dente) 1 glass of rice
Heat 1 stick of butter with a couple of ilachis in another pot
Add 1 glass of sugar and heat through
Add 2 spoons of yogurt, stir then add rice
The rice will release liquid…dry it out and then you are ready for dum.
Add color/nuts/raisans/etc before you put the rice on dum (it depends on you what stuff you want to add, for freshness you can also squeeze some orange juice over the top)
Dum rice for ~20-25 minutes (on tawa–> low heat)
**If you want the classic yellow meethe chawal you add food coloring during the boiling part
And your done!
