Boil small strips of chicken breast in chicken stock. You can add noodles, even corn if you like. Flavor with soy sauce and hot sauce. Thicken with corn starch if you want thick soup. Drizzle in a beaten egg at the end. Garnish with finely chopped green chilis, cilantro, basil, and bean sprouts.

Authentic Vietnamese pho:
The chicken broth is made with onions, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and some other spices. No soy sauce, hot sauce, or corn is served in the authentic version. But on a lazy day I just make plain broth for soup as described above.
