The example you gave is flawed. You assume they are forced in SA, whilst it could be they removed the hijab, to avoid negative attitude/attention a niqabi gets in the wests. so maybe they were trying to fit in.
yes some cover up by law rather than will. but how is that different to france, where you have to uncover by law. and then there is the indecency act, where wearing nothing in public will get you in court. by same logic, is that not against your freedom?
