What a tacky wedding. I have nothing against super expensive weddings...but for God's sake, show some class!
I have to say, I've noticed that Indians with money behave like such nouveau riches...every thing they do is about conspicuous consumption (including going on a show to advertise just how much they spent on everything), and reflects on a general lack of good taste (if only they could buy that too!). There's no dearth of fabulously wealthy Pakistani families in the US, but you'll seldom about them throwing tacky circus weddings like that one. I wonder if its cultural...

Also, considering the fact that she easily spent $200,000 on clothes and jewelery, I thought she would have managed to purchase at least one non-paindu looking outfit.

I have no comments on the wedding yet....but man she spend so much money on such ugly dresses. She changed to 5 or 6 dresses and not even one was nice. Even jewelry was horrible. She should have contacted HSY or Karma :D

their money, they can do whatever they want with it, but I definitely agree the outfits and jewelery could have been a 100 fold better for the amount she spent. Then again most of the indian bridal outfits I have come across are similar in style, so maybe it is a cultural thing.

Indians have a completely different style....their bridall/groom wear are very very average looking compared to ours!

the few "rich" paki weddings ive seen (posted on this site) were xtremely tacky too.... i can think of 1 "rich" wedding that i thot was realy nice (but i dont know how much it cost norwas it posted here)...

Good for them. I don't give the slightest crap how much anyone spends on their wedding but I didn't like one thing about any aspect of the wedding. A little classless and slightly 'paindu' for my taste.

Yeah, I hope they are happy but the bride could have gotten waaaaaaaaaaaay classier dresses. I dont know why some people think filling an outfit to the T with kaam is beautiful. Its not!! Sometimes, less is more. Her wedding ceremony outfit was SO pendu looking and had no style to it. Her other outfits were ones I could have found easily on Devon Avenue for half the price! One of them had these huge wierd looking flowers on the border - ick! The decor was nice but not necessary for the wedding beautiful. The food looked great but I doubt many of those desi aunties and uncles appreciated the 100 different kinds of foods and 60 different desserts. Even 30 of each would have been awesome if they really wanted to go all out.
She could have donated money to a cause for her wedding or asked her guests to make a donation to charity in their name instead of gifts. One of my friends did that.
