A Unique Introduction :-

hey people.
I wasnt sure where to post introduction though modz could move it if they wish to do so. Iam nicole 22 years old isreali girl (born and raised in Isreal but now) living in Canada, and student of university majoring in international affairs and minor in Islamic studies. Just about researchingtis project on Pakistan as a country. Iam writing my paper on economics, politics, and social affair of a country because we isrealis don’t know much about Pakistan.
Recently, the local paper in isreal issued full three pages ..out viewing country Pakistan and what was the most point that intrugued me was Pakistan came into being in 1947 as a muslim state. Whereas, isreal came into being 1947 as jews state. To cut this introduction short, i wish to know more about Pakistanis living in Pakistan and abroad. Few days ago, i met this Pakistani girl here in my university
I was amazed with such a warm frienship from her and we are “becoming” close friends.

regards,
nicole.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Born and raised in Israel but you don’t know how to spell the name of your own country. You misspelled it twice, good job :k:

Anyway, there are other forums on this board such as General and Culture etc. I would suggest you open threads in Culture forum if you wish to find out more information about Pakistan. All the best :k:

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

hello people.
In hebrew the way pronounce it as Isreal not israel. <Bad grammer i suppose.
It is nice meeting you all, tell me your names or tell me about yourself a bit.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

I am The Pakistani Falcon, ask me any questions you may have about Pakistan and I'll try my best to answer them.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Generally in my experience,, when pakistanis move abroad they leave politics about other countries behind. So the friendship from the Pakistani girl is unsurprising.

By the way - I'll take a wild guess and guess York University?

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Let me ask you a question:-

Do you think Pakistan could except Isreal as a country to strenghten our ties due to Arabs have been failed in continues attempt to have peace with isreal. Isreal have nothing against Pakistan nor iam sure Pakistan has. Pakistan majorly have ties with arabs where arabs have given nothing to Pakistan i.e, defence projects??. Social economic welfare of people?. In ties with isreal, Pakistan would be able to access defence, economic, and social affairs with Isreal as isreal is keen to have friendship with major Islamic nuclear power.

regards,
nicole.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Probably not. Regardless of what the arabs have done or have not done (and Saudi Arabia and many Gulf States have economically done a great deal for Pakistan), Pakistan is founded entirely on ideology unlike Arab states.

It would be a gross betrayal of the ideals of Pakistan’s founders if Pakistan, created as a homeland for Muslims to be able to practice their faith free from oppresion, were to extend recognition to a state that is occupying land owned by Muslims and is oppressing them.

Whilst I have little objection to the talks between Pakistan and Israel, I think that recognition of Israel even within the 1948 “Green Line” boundaries would be inappropriate without full concensus from the OIC.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

I hope Pakistan isnt greedy enough to accept that…id rather they be friends with the Muslim countries (eg. Palestine)

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Israeli girl...I have a question for you.

some jews recently came to our uni, and they said that Israel being a country is totally against the teachings of Judaism....apparently, what ur religion says is that you shouldnt have a country of your own or rule one (i.e. Israel). so they said what Zionists are doing is 100% against the teachings of their religion (i.e. occupying Israel). is that true?

in other words you cant be a real jew and yet defend Israel.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Hi Nicole, welcome. To answer your question, let me just share with you the intolerance that the government of Pakistan has for Israel, my pakistani passport states in very bold, clear, ink, that this passport is valid for travel to all nations of the world except Israel. No explanation, nothing. With this kind of narrow minded, pathetic, attitudes in our government, don't look for any support from this so called Islamic state (Islam promotes tolderance and acceptance, not intolerance), Pakistan as a nation will never support Israel as a valid state.

Sorry, but it's the truth.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Hi Nicole... this may be a good opportunity to point out that aahmed is officially the 4th most bitter person on Gupshup ;)

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

I think neighbours has more rights ... i.e. Palestine. So better start this peace from there ... cauz Islam is like a family, So it won't really work of being a friend with one brother and not with other ...

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

would u really want to go to israel? why should pakistan support a “country” that shouldnt even exist? so you’re saying if some1 came and kicked you out of ur house…we as pakistanis should support the people who kicked u out (i.e. support the evil people?)

i think ur the one who’s narrow minded, pathetic and make no sense at all.

Re: A Unique Introduction :-

Nicole, I have often found references where Israel and Pakistan have been compared on their ideological back ground at birth but Pakistanis generally find it a very offensive comparison.

Just like in Israel, Pakistan has a internal struggle as what the founding fathers really want it to be - a Islamic state or a Muslim homeland. This struggle has often caused disharmony among its citizen and still a cause for heated debate.
