sorry I know it is really a stupid one but I wanna know what kind of “cd” I need to save some pics on a Jpeg or paintbrush format from one pc to use them on another. i tried the floppies that i have but it doesnt work saying the floppy does not have enough space to save those pics (even one pic).
hey wth?? these are some simple pictures. the floppies i have are those stone age floppes with 1.44 MB. i think this is the reason it is not working. there is no cd-R in the old pc so i need to know what kind of floppies i can use to do the same.
TNWB, how big are the files? you may be able to delete stuff from the floppy disk (or move those files to one of the PCs) and move the pics that way. See if you have a USB MP3 player, most of the new ones come up as a drive when u plug them into the computer (dunno about ipod tho). Once it comes up as a drive copy all the pics over, unplug the MP3 player from 1 PC and plug it into the other and copy the pics to the new machine. Simple!!
Yes, they can. I transfer work on my MP3 player to home a lot of times.
U should be able to fit each pic on a floppy as the floppy holds 1.44 mb (the new ones do, anyway).
okay but i dont have an mp3 player so i should try using those floppies. yes these are new ones. were just kept unused in my old bag. so what if i cant fit those pictures into these floppies? are there any floppies with more space in the market i can get? i mean more than 1.44 mb?
As CM suggested u can try compressing them using Winzip (www.winzip.com) and that would make them smaller, and fit on a floppy.
Or you can email those files from the computer to yourself and download them to the other PC, depending on if you have internet on both.
do you have internet on both computers?, look for free website or your service provider website and upload the pics, only if you have internet that can help.
I'm actually pretty sure you have broadband on both and if you do then you probably have them both networked. You can transfer files over the network as well. Or start up some chat software and you can transfer files via that as well.
TB and pd - yeah i do have internet but the dial-up speed is extremely poor and the old pc takes ages to upload anything. i did try to upload from that pc and i had to give up cz it killed my 3 hours without any success. i tried attaching them to my email also but it takes so much time and in the end, it gives me some kind of error. so that has not worked. this is why im looking for other ways. i think im gonna try winzip.
but are there any floppies in the market with more space than 1.44 mb or not??
k that means you are just simply stuck. Well can u transfer the files on msn, proly it will take ages too and u might get d/c several times. why are u trying to upload the pics on other comp anyway?
