a step up for me on the HR ladder :)

I have accepted a position this week with an international company as Staffing Manager, working from their headquarters location based in NJ. Although the company is located a bit farther than my current job is, it is a nice step up from what I currently do with respect to HR. The positiont is obviously paying more $, there is also a chance to earn a 15% bonus, and tremendous growth potential. Another exciting aspect of the position is that I will get to travel to their China manufacturing plant (one of several that the company has worldwide) to staff that facility.

I am giving my 2 weeks notice on Monday. My gut tells me it won’t go down well with current management (the fact that I am leaving) but at the end of the day, I have to do what is best for me.

I am elated at the new opportunity

Congrats SP  I hope you become the best human recourser the world has ever seen

But China’s nowhere near Greece:nahnah: Anyway well done on bagging the new job.

Congratulations.. :flower1:

congratzzzz :hula:

Thanks guys :flower2:

This is ironic as I should be the one with all the answers re: everything remotely related to the HR field but how would you guys give notice? What would you say/do? How? When would you “clean out your desk”, etc.?

Congrats :flower1:
Staffing in China should be fun. Take your camcorder with you.
What would you do if your current company makes an attractive counter offer?

^ Fayz, I doubt that will happen as the owners are pretty stingy with $ at my current place of employment but if that WAS to happen, I would still move on. Bottom-line: there is no growth potential here for me.

Congratulations sweetiepie!!! That is wonderful news :) :) Good Luck! And start learning Chinese :D

Congrats!

You are right, no company is worth sacraficing self advancement :).

^ Absolutely!

Congratulations SP. Now that you are more career oriented will you be accepting any proposals in the near future.

regards

really interested

Well done :k:

Great News!

I guess, any guppie who has ever contemplated a manufacturing job in Shanghai should contact you now. I am sure you will put in a good word for your friends.

Faisal,

I am contemplating manufacturing babies in shanghai. Will you please put in a good word for me?

ashtray.... your word is as good as mine. My advice would be to talk to sweetpie baji at an appropriate time and see if she is willing to lend a hand.

Suprised you would say something like that.

Anyway, I’m really happy for you Sweetiepie. MashAllah good news.
So were you applying to other jobs while at your current job. I think it would be so much fun to travel. I hope everything works out for you. :flower1:

I am surprised that you are surprised. Friend in need is a friend indeed. The poor guy probably just wants to get married to a nice Chinese lady. We should all help him, and not put him down. tsk tsk :nook:

Exactly faisal, this poor guy believes in Pak Cheen Dosti wan soy, wan soy, wan soy, wansoy

Congrats sweetpie…read up on how the Chinese do business :k:
