It’s a powerful nation with a mighty military… (yes I agree, your enemies will not venture out for a military move against you)
It struggles to keep it’s words when it comes to democracy…
It has a few politicians who are struggling hard to save it from a total anarchy,a few are trying to plunder and a few( ?) are totally againts it’s interests…
It’s a country of great contrasts…(I am not talking about friendliness, and hospitality or extreme beauty…) but I mean at a time when the whole world thinks it is going to sink,it will resurrect from nowhere…
Though it has been marred by internal struggles at various phases of it’s history,it has been able to stand together…
The popular belief in India is that(and by many around the world),there are no religious minorities present, but there are people belonging to minority religions and continue to live there.
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
A nation or civilization that continues to produce soft-minded men purchases its own spiritual death on an installment plan... Currently both nations on installment scheme of death for an long term !!!
And Our Diplomacy is like, A person who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip.
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
India has everything but then it has a neighbor like Pakistan who will not let India alone till Kashmir issue is put to rest in consultation with Pakistan and people of Kashmir.
No matter how loud some people in India shout Kashmir to rahay ga magar Pakistan na rahay ga , these geeder bhapkies cannot resolve this issue , the real way to resolve it is by trilateral talks.
It might be news to some Indians but Kashmir issue has not been resolved yet. It can be resolved if some Indians calm their hot air filled egos down and come to their senses.
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
I view them as the country which is the closest to us in cultural terms.. cultural not religious.
Long lost brother with whom we don't get along anymore and have petty pettty issues escalate into serious wars.
Broken country as of now.. way too much turmoil.. barely holding itself together. Thousands of people dying every year. Super religious punks.
Even if I was to be a selfish Indian and put my general humanity aside.. I do sincerely want a stable Pakistan just because any country should want stable neighbours for it's own growth.
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
a lot of positives, but the fact that arms/money come from pakistan to certain groups within india that don't want India to be a united country are what annoy me a bit.
unfortunately the bad decisions in relation to one very important issue have been the cause of keeping the two countries as "enemies" of each other after independence. I wish the leaders(immediately after the time of independence) of both countries would've spent more time pondering over that issue rather than doing what they did do in history.
both countries have messed up that particular region. thousands of bucks have gone into "how can we outdo each other".
but if that issue/rivalry didn't exist, i think pakistan could've been a great neighbor for india and the two countries could've been so much stronger in terms of development and progress. i bet by now the two would've been in the first world grouping and close to 99% literate regarding their own individual populations.
the entertainment industry, music, the beauty of the people and environment, hospitality, similarities in culture, clothing, language will always keep the two countries connected though
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
how many indians here honestly would want j&k or even kashmir valley in particular to separate, since that's where certain extreme kashmiri muslim groups similar to hindutvas in the rest of india, want independence from India? after partition, no matter what happens would this be something that would be voted/allowed to happen?
if arms/money wasn't provided by pakistan and other muslim majority countries to these certain extreme right KM groups in the valley, would this issue still be as big as it is now?
people never do enough research on the crooked, corrupted events that lead up to what it is today and how complicated it is. nobody really knows much about J&K, all the varying views that exist there, most think all people of j&k are "kashmiri" in ethnicity and muslim, and all think in the same way, which is so far from reality
Re: A specific question Indians..How do you view Pakistan as a nation and neighbour?
I seriously dont know. I came to this site to find out.. what I have seen from this site is that Pakistan is a country very much like India though there are a lot more headed people there.
Religion is something that is being misused in Pakistan. That is the same in India too, though the magnitude is not of that order.
Corruption, I thin we are on par with them. That said and done, I truly feel that Pakistan and India should learn to co-exist inspite of the Kashmir issue, which I don't think will be liked by the general Pakistanis.
