Do any of you have a partner/spouse that sleepwalks? How do you deal with this? What are your solutions?
Or
For those not married yet, what if after marriage you come to find out your partner sleepwalks. What will be your reaction?
For myself, I have never been around anyone to experience it, but I can sure tell you I will be scared $h!t less! I have a friend who says her BF does it, and her solution is sleeping semi-on him to weigh him down from getting up unconsciously.

LMAO! I think he does it only so that she does in fact sleep on him. I should try that in the future.
Not a partner/spouse but when i shared my bed with my sister some time back , i noticed that she would get up, go to the door/washroom door and then come back in bed or just sit up in bed for a while. This happened two times and then one day when she got up ,i sat up and asked; where you going? she didn't respond. It immediately struck me that maybe she is sleepwalking and talked to her about it the next morning but she was unaware.
So from that point onward, whenever she would try to get up, i would pull her down gently and wrap my arms around her and gradually she stopped sleep walking Alhumdolillah.
It can be a serious issue for some people, the BBC have done some really good shows on this. They recoreded the people as they slept and it's a miracle any of these sleep walkers are still alive, one man used to get up and try to climb out of his window, he was really manic, he had to have his window bolted down. There was also this guy used to subject his partner to really aggressive violent sex and had no knowledge of it the next morning, when they interviewed the couple the women was so embarressed her face was blurred out. Murder and rape have been commited by sleepwalkers, kind of makes wondering round the bedroom pale in comparrison.
I had a room mate who sleep walked , once I saw he walked to the window and started flying , he never came back so I did not have to worry about him anymore.
Its a gift form heaven. If someone's spouse has this problem, spread the word around to everyone, beat the drum. It will come handy when you will finally decide to kill him/her and paint it as accident.

im serious guys..this is a scary thought!
or just sit up in bed for a while.
OMG! This is why i ask!
So, yday my significant other told me that his friend whose staying over told him in the morning that he got up at night to get a blanket and saw him sitting up and sleeping at night...i was speechless, and he was like, oh its nothing to worry about. Ofcourse hes gonna say that! And here i am sitting silent and freaked out, thinking of paranormal activity.

thanks for such a reassuring eye opener!! exactly the kind of things i think of when i hear 'sleepwalking'..

Bloody hell theres no way she will escape our dungeon! Though if she sleepwalks I would be concerned… more so though if I was sleep walking… I am a known danger in the house when I am awake, heaven forbid I sleepwalk… who knows what I will do.

Everyone in my family sleep walks- me, my brother and my sister. Although we do it much less since we have grown older.
It was quite usual for my parents to come down stairs in the morning and find one or 2 of us sleeping on the sofa/armchair/floor in the living room and we never had any recollection of getting there.
They used to worry at first that we may end up falling down the stairs but I think with 3 of us they soon gave up. I often remember waking up in odd places and thinking oh- how did I get here and then just going back up to bed.
Now my nieces and nephews all sleep walk as well
I think what was quite scary was when my sister first got married, she was only 18 and she got married abroad. The change of country, being away from family, responsibility of marriage etc etc really got to her so she was really stressed and one day she was sleeping after having had an argument with her husband and whilst sleeping she got up and went and asked her husband to go out to dinner which he agreed to. They also picked up her sister in law and brother in law and their 3 daughters on the way. They ate pizza- admittedly she was quite quiet throughout the meal although she is a chatter box but everyone thought it was to do with the argument and then came home and went to bed.
The next day she swore blind she hadn't been out for pizza and she had been asleep the whole time. Everyone was convinced it was acting on her part but she was insistent for ages afterwards. My brother in law was very worried and totally freaked out and took her for all sorts of scans and check ups and the specialist told them it was rare, but under extreme stress very possible
Ten years on, she still sticks to her story, but it is very strange- the eating part especially...
