Re: A Sleepwalking spouse/partner
Everyone in my family sleep walks- me, my brother and my sister. Although we do it much less since we have grown older. It was quite usual for my parents to come down stairs in the morning and find one or 2 of us sleeping on the sofa/armchair/floor in the living room and we never had any recollection of getting there. They used to worry at first that we may end up falling down the stairs but I think with 3 of us they soon gave up. I often remember waking up in odd places and thinking oh- how did I get here and then just going back up to bed. Now my nieces and nephews all sleep walk as well I think what was quite scary was when my sister first got married, she was only 18 and she got married abroad. The change of country, being away from family, responsibility of marriage etc etc really got to her so she was really stressed and one day she was sleeping after having had an argument with her husband and whilst sleeping she got up and went and asked her husband to go out to dinner which he agreed to. They also picked up her sister in law and brother in law and their 3 daughters on the way. They ate pizza- admittedly she was quite quiet throughout the meal although she is a chatter box but everyone thought it was to do with the argument and then came home and went to bed. The next day she swore blind she hadn't been out for pizza and she had been asleep the whole time. Everyone was convinced it was acting on her part but she was insistent for ages afterwards. My brother in law was very worried and totally freaked out and took her for all sorts of scans and check ups and the specialist told them it was rare, but under extreme stress very possible
Ten years on, she still sticks to her story, but it is very strange- the eating part especially...
omg, this is making me rethink when i have him recall things from our late night talks, and i get the reaction of 'huh!? you never told me this'.....oh sweet god!!
Re: A Sleepwalking spouse/partner
For those not married yet, what if after marriage you come to find out your partner sleepwalks. What will be your reaction?
I know I would definitely freak out. My mom used to talk in her sleep sometimes... it gave me the shivvverrrs. Once my younger sister was talking to me eyes-wide open at three a.m in the morning asking me how her friend will go home now that there was a storm outside... I didn't know what to tell her... so I just played along and said men chorh ae hun usay you go back to sleep and she did.
With such a partner, I guess you just have to make sure they don't do anything stupid and try to shake them out of it...
