How many of you guppans have relatives or family friends that have multiple wives?

I do. He's my second cousin in Pakistan (but our families are very close and he's actually closer to my mom's age).
Looking at the mess his life is as a result of having two wives is a lesson to anyone not to marry twice. Neither of his wives or his children from either marriage is happy. Everyone feels like they missed out on having a happy family and the comparisons and jealousy is constant. He aged beyond his years because of the stress and the conflict of maintaining two households.

I know about 3 different men with 2 wives. Seemed alright to me. The one that I know most is my dad's best friend who married again cos his first wife couldn't have kids. The second wife gets on very amicably with the first and the first wife loves her husband's kids. Not seen many issues there.

i once met this dude who married 3 times in hope to have kid of his own.2 of them were with him, one ran away.it was a tragic story.

But we had a neighbor when I lived back home who had 2 wives. They had 2 flats in the same building....and from what I remember....it was a miserable situation. I remember many times we could hear yelling/screming coming from their homes. In addition....I remember the maids gossipping about all the drama that went on behind closed doors. And from what I remember...the son from his 1st marriage stopped talking to the dad.

I have way too many jahils in my family.
Not a single one of them could uphold his responsibility of having multiple wives. Two out of the ones I know, has 6 children and EACH one of them hates him. Because he hurt their mothers so much.
Men should really judge their faith in Islam and their capability as a man, before he ventures off for another nikah.

My SIL's uncle (we see him and his wives quite often).. Also one of my dad's close friends.. Those are the nearest.. I know of a few more eg. one of dad's cousins or something got a girl pregnant behind his wife's back then married her as well, a couple of servants that my mum's family have 'back home' have also had their husbands take second wives (one divorced and one stayed with him)..
