A silly Question

Why is it that almost but not all threads turn into challanging others expertise on the subject matter, regardless of whether you are discussing scram jet technology, religion, country ties, or even an issue pertaining to popping a zit.
I know almost but not all here have Phds from MIT, Yale, Harvard, Princeton etc, excluding me. But why have this “I know better than you, let me put you down to make my point” posts and replies. Just wondering.

Re: A silly Question

Its a desi thing, i guess, to out-do eachother whether on internet or in real :>

Re: A silly Question

PS: Verizon yaar can you point me to the thread where you posted the pic of the road leading to Kahuta? I cant find it

Re: A silly Question

its not a desi thing, its a man thing, more importantly, an American man thing

Almost all American people here on GS and people that i know personally love being right, even when they are so clearly in the wrong. I think its something to do with the fact that they love reading what they write.

Actually, wait, its an American thing, regardless of gender, bite me, iv made a generalisation.

Re: A silly Question

woof

Re: A silly Question

5abi, go to gallery then look for pakistan in pics under that you will find roads sub category thats where you'll find it labeled road to kahuta.
I posted some other pics as well from my mountain climbing days, search for all pics by verizon.

Re: A silly Question

found it and left a comment, thanks :>

Re: A silly Question

Because Verizon, they dont generally know what they are talking about.
They just want others to think that they know what they are talking about. Miss_Mohabbats right, it is more of a man thing, you know ego and all.

Re: A silly Question

Verizon, sometimes it is obvious who is right and other times it is obvious who is not; yet other times nothing is obvious but what is obviously not so obvious is that what may be obvious to some may not be obvious to some other and to those it is obvious is obviously where one should pay attention to.

Forget about PhDs from elite schools, let’s see how much tankha do you make monthly?

Re: A silly Question

Oh wait a minute you dont expect me to disclose my W2 on a web forum? I understand the obvious obsession, it just irks me to see a thread with upmanship going.
I mean the analogies I see presented here are out of this world. I mean you wouldbe discussing dissecting a frog and the analogy would be to use the circular saw to cut wood, and being coerced into my way is right.
But anyway all of you are right. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for the shoulder.

Re: A silly Question

There are no silly questions, only silly people.
Sorry yaar, chul ho rahi thi isliyey keh diya. :D

Re: A silly Question

not a silly question.....its true....

i have found that aswell...a bit attitude.....there are alot of ppl in GS who do that... i dnt think its just a male thing....some people have strong opinions and they find it hard accept anything other than what they believe....i can do that sometimes but have learnt to be open minded......i think....

Re: A silly Question

Missy - have you ever met an American in person?

Re: A silly Question

Not only on this message board but most desis have attitude in real life. Most of the time when you meet a new desi they have “I am better than you “ mentality and look on their faces. I think it all has to do with coming to America in competing with each other mindset. I have more money then you. I have more education then you. I am living better life than you. We desis become very materialistic when we leave our homeland and live abroad. Because the sole purpose of desis leaving their country and living in west is better lifestyle; therefore we tend to be more overcautious about our financial status and we think others as our competitors. Believe me we don’t come to America because we love Americans or we have religious freedom here. We come here because we want to live a materialistic lifestyle. It is as simple as that.

Krishna knows best. :halo: : pranam:

Re: A silly Question

of course i have, i wouldn’t base an opinion on GS alone u muppet :stuck_out_tongue:

We had an American lass in our primary school, she was a right cow, swallowed a bleeding dictinoary and still couldn’t spell the word colour!

Then there was Ricky, the American student…oh the things he came out with…he loved listening to his own voice…and yet he took…like…erm…what…a …whole …erm hour…to say his name!

Its the whole arrogance thing…“We come from land of power, therefor we know everything”…BS. Another thing, some American people cant differentiate between an opinion and a fact. they seem to take everything to heart, and reject an opinion which is not similar to thiers.

Re: A silly Question

Missy..he asked you if you ever saw an American, not your life story. Do you know anything about Yes or No? No?

Re: A silly Question

Re: A silly Question

I have met desi’s that are quite opposite and on the contrary quite down to earth and these desi mind you do have phd’s from MIT.
I have also met with Matsui and Madhanee and they too are very decent people, and I am not saying that to please them it’s a fact.

Re: A silly Question

Yeah yeah…Matsui’s the best… I only hang out with the best of the bestest.
