I have met desi’s that are quite opposite and on the contrary quite down to earth and these desi mind you do have phd’s from MIT.
I have also met with Matsui and Madhanee and they too are very decent people, and I am not saying that to please them it’s a fact.

That’s why I wrote ‘most’ of the time not ‘all’ the time in my post.

Not only on this message board but most desis have attitude in real life. Most of the time when you meet a new desi they have “I am better than you “ mentality and look on their faces. I think it all has to do with coming to America in competing with each other mindset. I have more money then you. I have more education then you. I am living better life than you. We desis become very materialistic when we leave our homeland and live abroad. Because the sole purpose of desis leaving their country and living in west is better lifestyle; therefore we tend to be more overcautious about our financial status and we think others as our competitors. Believe me we don’t come to America because we love Americans or we have religious freedom here. We come here because we want to live a materialistic lifestyle. It is as simple as that.

Have you seen the desis in desiland? they are worse. IN America no one dare ask, how much money you make. In Pakiland and India, it is a question that is the first on their lips.

Some of us love the entire idea of America. Only place in the world where a Paki, and INdian and a Baby bell can have thai food in the middle of the afternoon in a restaurant littered with coeds and not worry about who’s uncle got what and whose auntie’s religion is better and why eating double basted porkchops is ok.

From what I've seen, the more argumentative a person gets, the more they demand they are right, the less educated and more ignorant they are. The more educated a person is, the more open they are to discussion and new ideas. I've never seen this rule fail and it doesnt apply to specific culture, gender, race or religion. Never fails. When people get all defensive, its cause they feel out of their element, when they attack the ideas of others vehemently without knowing ALL the facts, its out of fear and ignorance.
