Salam,
Can someone give me a list of Pakistan’s BIGGEST achievements?

I would really appreciate it.

ie. WC 1992, FASTEST CENTURY HITTER, etc etc.

Hmmm...... lets see if I can provide some famous ODI achievements

Australasia Cup 1986 (the six changed everything for Pakistan and I guess for India too:D )

Nehru Cup in 1989 (still remember khan sahib captain's knock in the final and akram's six of the second last ball of the last over of richards)

Australasia Cup 1990 (sepcially because of the start of Waqar younis era)

Wills Trophy in Sharjah, 1991 . Pakistan was almost out of the tournament after losing to India and Windies and than came to beat Windies by 1 run (remember the famous 2 females who were praying and than that footage was seen after that for several years). Later Pakistan beat India and clinched the series.

WC 1992. Still remember the song. The world is coming down, the flags are up......
Pakistan ruled the world

Pakistan beating India in the inaugral Sahara Cup by 3-2, coming back in the series from 2-1 down

Carlton and United Series , 1997. The only time when Pakistan won the prestigious triangular series in Australia

Pakistan beating India in a 3 match ODI series in 1997. It was India's first visit to Pakistan after 8 years (1989). Remember the last match when Ijaz ahmed phaitofy all indians like a dhobi all over the ground

Pakistan beating India in the 3rd Sahara Cup convincingly by 4-1 and took revenge of 2nd Sahara cup defeat

Pakistan thrashing India in Pepsi Cup in India, beating them in both pool matches and than in the final

Asia Cup 2000, when Pakistan clinched the cup for the first time

Pakistan winning the Super challenge series against Australia, 2-1, in 2002

Pakistan beating India in the platinum Jubilee match in 2004

Pakistan beating India in ODI series by 4-2 in 2005.

Pak’s biggest achievement :

Winning 1992 World Cup through the backdoor.

If rain had not washed out the following match and split the points (Pak were 74 all out when rain intervened), Pakistan would have crashed out of the World Cup in the 1st round.

Hahahaaha, stop whinning like Ian Botham. Lagta hay zada hee usar lay lya Botham ka. Anyway due to the stupid D/L system Pakistan lost the match against South Africa as well, which cost them 2 points

we WON the world cup is all that matters...if ur talking bout a backdoor talk bout the 1979 semi where the windies beat us by 1 wicket...last wicket partnership of 60!!!!!!

Realistically speaking:

  1. WC 1992
  2. Glorious record against arch-rival India.
  3. Giving numerous Super Stars to the world of cricket.

theres always a Win and Loss column, doesnt matter how u get the win, wat meeters is you got the W! i dont think n e placed an asterisk on indias tour of Australia where the herculian efforts of the indian batsmen were aided by the non presence of Mr.Mcgrath!! i believe mr.Warne who doesnt have a good record against india but isnt the worst of spinners in the world either wasnt their!! drawing a test series against the likes of Andrew Bichel, Nathan Bracken, and brad williams should deffinetly be hailed!!

^ Players getting injured and sitting out is a regular feature in International Cricket (That is why good teams have strong bench).

A team getting a crucial point due to rain after being all out for 74 is not routine. Its called DIVINE INTERVENTION, if not LUCK.

^ It sure was, but than Pakistan did not make the rules nor should one result take the gloss from the overall performance of the team during that tournament. If anyone had more luck than Pakistan it was the other finalist England who were in the final due to rain and that also in the semi finals and not the early rounds. Balme the rules not the team.

Yup, it does, we won, and u still cannot swallow that! Pakistan is a reality, its here 2 stay, i know some of you have trouble with such a thing!! u cant accept our countries existence let alone us winning a World Cup!

The rain was there to ruin so many games. If (only)Pak took advantage of it, then it was so smart and was always a part of our game plan.
