Nice list building up here. In fact such moments are always never-ending.
To me one such moment was the inclusion of Bob Woolmer (and his efforts with Inzy and PCB), who put his best to make talented but semi-professional Pak side into professionals. He was always under-pressure from media and ex-players but never took a decission that can discourage professionalism in Pak team. Before him every player was treated as of his star value. But now things have changed pretty much. You only play (regularly) in the team if you are talented and can behave well.
A team getting a crucial point due to rain after being all out for 74 is not routine. Its called DIVINE INTERVENTION, if not LUCK.
Now you can spin it anyway you like but the truth remains.
Some 1 bhai I spent alot of time thinking of how to get back to you with this statement of yours ^^ .
I was thinkingof any major vicotry where indian got away due to their luck but dude frankly speaking I couldn't comeup with an answer. You know why???
Because I couldn't think of a major indian victory:p
Yes its true, indian team has not won a major tournament since 1985. And yes Pakistan has won alot of major tournaments during that time. Atleast Pakistan is not a choker team which can choke in crunch situations. If they get a chance they utilize it completely.
Fortune favors the brave:p
Rain-intervention and splitting of points because of it has happened many times before in One-Day Cricket history. I don't intend to argue that.
Only in this situation, the team involved was saved from crashing out of the tournament and more importantly went on to win the world cup.
I am aware that Pakistan lifted their game subseuquently and seemed like they deserved to win the World Cup in the end.
But let us not forget that it was the RAIN that saved the ultimate HEROES from returning home as ZEROS and also if I might say from rotten tomatoes instead of the glorious reception they got.

How can you be so sure that England would have made those runs in those conditions. For all we know they might have crashed for 50 all out. It is cricket and anything can happen. You can spin it all you want but the possibility existed. If Pakistan could go from an impossible situation to win the tournament they surely could have bundled out England for under 50. You can spin it all you want but the possibility remains.
One can twist things the way he/she pleases but what matter is the end result. As an example there was so much fuss and talk on the recent US of A election when people were talking about Bush using his influence to win the election and that the elections were rigged. At the end Bush was a winner and he is THE President of US of A NOT Karri, he is history now.
Similarly the world knows who won the 1992 world cup but only sour losers will keep bringing in the discussion that infect it was due to ONLY and ONLY rain that Pak won the WC. Well if thats the case than I would like to ask those losers why don't you blame the rain and do something about it instead of insisting it was DUE TO RAIN Pak won.
Also I believe Pak played 3 more matches (including the final) after that rain decider and Pak won all of those to lift the WC so if it was DUE TO RAIN than where was this rain during those 3 matches? Why the rain did not come to save Pak or infect why just Pak why not other teams?
Its just some people are still in shock and do not want to accept the reality that Pak actually won the 92 WC...sour grapes.
Do you really want me to reply to that? Because you know that I can come up with a whole list of matches (specially finals) where India “choked”.
By the way what happened in 1996 WC after India beat Pakistan. How can they lost the semifinal without losing their all 10 wickets?:hehe: Did they literally choke at that time?
The playing conditions were very difficult in Pakistan versus England, rain affected match . Do you even know that England was in a very difficult position when the game finally ended. After bowling out Pakistan on an almost unplayable pitch, they were needing 40+ runs in 8 overs to win. They could have easily lost that match.
If you want another example of an awkward scorecard due to unplayable conditions, check this one out. That was the last pool match when the unbeatable England were defeated by Zimbabwe. http://usa.cricinfo.com/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/WORLD_CUPS/WC92/LEAGUE/ZIM_ENG_WC92_ODI35_18MAR1992.html
Some 1 bhai I thought Botham was the biggest whinner but you are proving me wrong. Remember I opened a thread “What excuses England will come up after losing the series” .
Don’t force me to open another one “What excuses **Some 1 **will come up when India will lose the upcoming series”.
I don’t know why but I have a feeling that in that a$$ kicking thread, alot of guppies will very keenly participate:hehe:
