Re: A Recipe A Day...

I wanna try this recipe...can you tell are cutting the potatoes into small pieces before frying them?? and for how long we have to fry them (untill they turn golden brown from outside?) Do baby potatoes taste better? One more question, are we adding gram masala and onions to the heated oil at the same time? I am just learning how to cook so i am a little confuse and will really appreciate your help.

Re: A Recipe A Day...

hi pari

firstly all the best for your new cooking venture :-)

hmmm yeah you can cut potatoes into small peices or use baby potatoes, but baby potatoes taste better

yes, fry them till they look light crispy golden.

first add whole garam masala and immediately add chopped onions...

Re: A Recipe A Day...

I want to try aloo keema palau too, but i am not sure what is meant by 90% cooked rice? does that mean we are not gonna give the chawals daam? instead just take them off of heat and drain the extra water? Also do we add the iliachi and zeera to water before boiling it to cook the rice or do we add rice and iliachi/zeera to the boiling water at the same time. If i use 2-3 iliachis (do i need to break them or no) would that be good?

Re: A Recipe A Day...

oh thank you so much...it makes more sense to me now and I will sure let you know about the results. thanks once again :)

Re: A Recipe A Day...

yes drain the water just before the rice is completely cooked, it will be cooked when we give damm to the biryani...

add rice, zeera and ilaichi to the boiling water at the same time, no need to break the ilaichi... it is just to make the rice more aromatic

Re: A Recipe A Day...

daagh bhai, how do you come up with the names for your dishes...lol

Re: A Recipe A Day...
