Daagh, I was thinking of trying out your biryani recipe today and have a request. Could you please specify the quantities of the various whole spices in the Garam Masala? I am specifically asking about the aniseed, which would be saunf. I always thought Garam Masala would have zeera (cumin) in it. Also, wouldn't aniseed be part of a Pulao masala rather than Biryani?

i took around
8-10 black peppers
4-5 cloves
1 black elaichi or 3-4 regular ones
half an inch of cinammon stick
yes zeera as well around 1/4th tbsp
aniseed is not saunf. Saunf is fennel seed. Aniseed is a star shaped masala. very aromatic.
