Yet another youth in Lahore lost his life due to this stupid KITE flying thing.
How come these guyz have no repect for damage to other’s lives and properties
Every year scores of people are killed by either falling off from the roof tops or having severe injuries due to the sharp strings …
May Allah (swt) give sabr to the family of the deceased.
and give some aqal to those who just wont quit doing it :smack:
These damn people. Although they allowed it only for a few days, more people will be killed because everyone will try to have their share of fun during these days.
Two of my friends barely escaped the cutting *daur. *I don't understand why the govt. permitted it again when the supreme court had put a ban on it. Kite flying is harmless , true, but when flown with 'chemcial daur' or 'dhati taar( metalic wire), its a killer !!
We can LIVE without flying kites n Basants!
You can go to a big ground or stadium and fly kites there, instead of flying it in the streets where they have normal people trying to do everyday life chores.
Yes James bhaand and Shikra, I agree. That is not fun. I hate basant, my 3 year old cousin also died by falling from roof 2 years ago.
Thanks Itsme for posting the links.
In those threads I have told about my personal expereince too when a stray string cutted sharply my two fingers of right hand, from joints. Thanks God I still have them. It took the whole month to recover.
That is indeed sad. Some people just never learn. I know I might be going off-topic, but Basant isn’t even an Islamic celebration. It’s a Hindu ritual which is celebrated during the onset of spring in honor of Saraswati, a Hindu goddess for wisdom and intellect. I’m not disrespecting anyone’s beliefs here but really, Hinduism has always been contrary of Islam.
Even though the whole idea of Basant is to rejoice the greenery and colors of spring, but it has taken an entirely selfish route in a past decade, where humanity and common courtesy gets run over every single year. People are already mentally prepared about the hassles this celebration is bound to bring, but no one ever does anything about it, not even the government. Everyone shamelessly competes with each other in kite flying not realizing their overlooked piece of string might end up eliminating a string of someone else's life.
kite string is pretty sharp, like a knife. Wouldn't a knife slit your throat? Same is true with kite string. It's sharp enough to slit one's throat once it touches the throat.
:hinna: And people try to buy and invent the string that could be more sharp to cut opponents string. But due to this, they are cutting people throats…
