If the Imam said that 65 years for rape was too much....that is his opinion and he is entitled to his opinion. In many countries for rape you would get a lot less than 65 years....so therefore his opinion is accepted in some parts of the world and is valid. I may or may not agree with his opinion but I defend his right to have and express his opinion..so long as it is within the law. That is not the same as encouraging people to rape or even condoling rape. His is discouraging his congregation from being tempted by flesh.
Covering will not completely remove rape but it would reduce the numbers, as it would reduce the temptation.
Again your misquoting what he said "Mr Secular man". He did not say that it was the 65 years that was the problem, he said that women are the art of seducers, and that the trial judge should show mercy on the rapist because of the fact that the women must have seduced him.
