Re: a question…

LOL! I guess the GOB derailed it as well when they kept changing the numbers

Exactly my point. Numbers do matter. It changes the nature of the conflict, the responsibility of the invading military and the crimes they have to atone for.

NomiCA genocide does not have a scale. There is no such thing as a small genocide, a medium one, a kinda big one, and a freaking huge one. There is only genocide and their are a specific ruleset to what constitutes genocide.

I believe that most people on GS can not read. That or they refuse to. Read my original post again. Last line. That should answer any concerns of yours Psyah.

Re: a question…

Peace CM

Throughout my concerns have consistently been that we should not view injustices in a different light based on numbers. You say there have been attrocities x, y, z but not genocide. My argument is not about genocide … that has never been my argument. To me genocide is no different to the other things that you have admitted have happened.

If those other things happened as you admit then genocide may well have happened it would not have made any difference, that is what I am saying … taken from what our Lord has said from His Book.

The moment we start to classify attrocities as bad and worse then we will start to resign ourselves to tacit acceptance of the perceived ‘lesser’ variety by comparing them to what we perceive to be of the ‘greater’ variety.

Re: a question...

Psyah there is religion and reality. Religion is the absolute. The best man can be and what man should strive for. Then there is reality. What man really is. In reality numbers matter. In reality skin color matters. In reality there is the enemy and the hero. That is reality.

I do not disagree with your argument because it is borne out of faith and idealism. Certainly not reality.
