A question

This was posted in the other thread and I just had a question about it.

If Jesus Christ died on the cross for all the sins of mankind then why cant Christians sin? If they are alraedy forgiven, they why bother doing deeds or worry about sins at all?

Re: A question

i asked the same question once , never got a good enough answer .

Re: A question

i thought he was killed.

Re: A question

why ask them.. go read about Paul and his contribution to the creation of Christianity as we know it today.. he introduced all these concepts of the death of Jesus Christ and him being a son of God and dying for everyone's sins.. i mean even if I were not a Muslim, i would have a hard time believing that as a tenet of my faith!!

Re: A question

^ there are many things is Islam that a non-Muslim cannot fathom either. That's why people belong to different faiths.

I don't prescribe to the Christian POV that the only way to salvation is thru Christ. It is but one path. Obviously if someone strived to live his life as the Biblical Jesus did, he would have a better shot at salvation than someone who lived their life contrary to his teachings.

But because a Christian believes Jesus died for mans' sins does not mean that man does not sin. The belief is he man sins, but thru Jesus Christ he can be forgiven. They aren't automatically forgiven.

Re: A question

Your post doesn't still answer the question: Why worry about sins if by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior all sins will be forgiven anyway?

Re: A question

Reborn Christians remain sinners even after their rebirth. All of humankind are sinners and continually battle with their sinful nature. It is the duty of Christians to fight their sinful nature and live a live as close as possible to holiness. If a Christian continue to sin, he might lose the grace/forgiveness and backslide into what he was before he accepted Jesus as saviour.

As Paul wrote: What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey - whether you are slaves to sin, which lead to death, or to obedience (to Jesus’ teachings), which leads to righteousness?..Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

Re: A question

Well, the concept is not different to Islamic concept of Salvation which actually the christians always object, which is .........Islam asks people to be righteous but its not the righteousness itself that will lead to salvation but mercy from Allah, the one who stives for righteousness will be forgiven for his/her sins by The Almighty

Re: A question

Is salvation really up to God's compassionate treatment of an individual? Isn't he righteous and compassionate enough to lay out the ground rules for salvation instead of leaving it up to his whim?

Re: A question

he has laid ground rules

do u want to learn?

Re: A question

The ground rules are there, and Allah’s promise to us is that if we follow them we will attain salvation.

Re: A question

So basically he died for those who follow him? How come most scriptures say he died for mankind?

Re: A question

Yup! And our sins arent already forgiven, our deeds along with Allah’s mercy will get us to our final destination.

Re: A question

Jesus died for all of mankind’s sins. In order partake of this offer, one needs to accept it. Very few people take the necessary steps…

Re: A question

So a person needs to believe he will be forgiven because Jesus died and follow everything he says then their sins will be forgiven? Well if you dont sin(follow Jesus), how are ur sins forgiven

Re: A question

As far as i know, according to christianity, the only path to salvation is accepting Jesus as your savior. If you donot then you are not a christian and thus hellboud.

Did paul not come and break the 10 commandments himself ?

Re: A question

Did Allah not say he will save the qur'aan from corruption?? that is a stupid and baseless argument! Allah speaks abt the ones who say that Allah has begotten a "Son". He curses such people. dont you people know surah Iklhas?

Surah 112

1, Say He is Allah the ONE
2, The one all who all creatures needs. He neither eats or drinks
3, He begets not nor was He begoten
4, and there in none like HIM!

that will destroy any of the christians stupid baseless fabricated arguements! if they say some verses from the qur'aan are missed. say "bring forth you evidence if you are truthful and call upon your witnesses, but if you cannot and you will not b able to then fear the fire who's feul shall be men and stones for those who disbelieve"

Re: A question

wasnt Paul the one who was tricked by the devil?

Re: A question

exactly.. and immediately the ‘gut feeling’ could become their litmus test and they’d be directed to the right path.. so what if it wasn’t “Islam” in the form it exists today.

so much corruption has occured ..we’ve had hundreds of “Pauls” who’ve changed the true Islamic teaching to an unrecognizable form it’s in now.

doesn’t take away from Islam as the real religion itself..

Re: A question

Yeah like the Mirzais…
