Cant you see she poses a threat to the Marines. Who knows she might have a hand grenade hidden, a bomb belt. The marine had to make a split second decision and his decision was to handcuff the girls. The adrenalin was running high, please dont balme the marine, he cannot do any wrong and he is not wrong.

It matters. But with the media one doesnt know whats real and what isnt.But this picture is very possible. Sad really.

The pictures are not fake but they are almost a year old, the pictures were taken during the hunt for Saddam.

Just because you said "Muslim news" it will be labeled as biased. Lately I have startedto notice that anything that has muslim or islam associated with it in the west is labeled propaganda, fake etc etc.

The newspaper has a credible reputation. If you go to the 'messages for the muslim news' section, it has been endorsed by the government; i.e. Tony Blair, Jack straw and half a dozen other ministers. Not that they are considered as the standard bearers of credibility, but anti-west is one thing it is not.
^^ Ma Mooli Sir I am not trying to argue with you. I come to gupistan everyday and read stuff, I usually stay away from posting. Maybe it's my pereception but I have noticed that on gupistan if a muslim website is mentioned it is discredited by others, sorry no names, and vice versa, if CNN or BBC or some other source of information that is aligned to the west is quoted it is discredited by the other group. So basically we have two extremist groups on gupistan world forum, dont get me wrong there are others that hold middle ground but they stick to other forums. I hope that explains my previous statement.

Well, could she be handcuffed because the big stong Marine is scared of her? Hardly, but certainly this picture is being posted in a way that the reader could scoff at the bravery of American soldiers.
Could it be done because it is "procedure". Yes probably. So why is it "procedure"? Could be an over abundance of caution. Could be some bad experiences where children distracted soldiers while daddy pulled a gun. Is this wise? Probably not. I suspect this photo was shot right after the war started, when the US used "culturally inappropriate" methods to search houses. Some of this changed, some didn't. In an area like Fallujah you would have to assume that everyone is hostile.
Now, does it look like the girl is hurt? No. Scared, Yes probably. Daddy humiliated? Probably. Pi$$ed off Guppies? yes. Do I care? no.
The real question is why these photos were on this web site. Why? Of course most Muslims believe a "picture is worth a thousand words". They automatically presume to know precisely why everything happens, and pictures like this will reinforce preconceived notions. Every Muslim will jump to a conclusion about this photo, and ANY Muslim not falling rapidly into line about the standard story that MUST accompany this photo is rapidly candemned and accused of being a bad Muslim, or perhaps not a Muslim at all.

as for the little girl, how much do you bet on what she's thinking, 'wow, is this what they called liberation over there? cause if thats the freedom they came to give us, they can stick it where the sun dont shine'', or something along those words anyway.
That girl is not physically hurt, but the mental/emotional trauma she went through was probably 10 folds worse. Any wonders why the insurgents are finding any support?
IMO, if the soldiers are so frikking afraid that they have to tie up children, then they shouldnt be there in the first place. Maybe they should stay home and knit stockings. They aint soldiers, they're wimps. Nowhere in history, were children seen as a possible target/enemy. Not in civilised countries anyway.

Indeed they are not. They are just bunch of scared boys who joined army for 2 years so that can get some free college money. No wonder the morale is so down in military.
And, there is of course one problem. This picture was taken in 1993, recently after the fall of Baghdad.
Now why would this picture be posted NOW as if this were recent news?
