A question to Shias?

absolutely , its better to stay away from these matters altogather

[quote]
Remember, Allah (s.w.t) did bless the Prophet (saw) the knowledge of each and every "Munafiq" and "kafir" present in his life.
[/quote]

I doubt that, in Quran it says that there are some munafiqeen about whom even the Prophet does not know ....
although obviously i dont think sayyidna abu bakr or sahaba of his status were one of them. They were amongst the first muhajireen & ansar.

[quote]

The prophet (saw) even warned people against "Yazid" when yazid was just a child, that is why he refused to meet him. IF he knew what Yazid would do later in life, then why wouldn't he know what the rest of the people in his life would do in future.

[/quote]

brother i dont know where u heard this , yazid was neither a mukhadram nor a sahabi.
Prophet [pbuh] though made some predictions about karbala , which are narrated by sahabi Anas b harith [ra]

[quote]
let us curse the pharoah "Firo'n" (nafs) inside of each one of us and learn to control it (by the grace of Allah) as it deserves relatively more beating and cursing than any Fir'on, let alone the companions of the Prophet (saw
[/quote]

good point

Re: A question to Shias?

what lusi is refering to are the nawasib or those who have hate of sayyidna Ali
these people now do not openly show hostility to him & his friends but subtly do so trying to downgrade his status, questioning his decisions and glorifying his enemies.
Unfortunately these people try to pose as members of Ahle sunnah.
here is a brief introduction on them
http://www.paklinks.com/gs/religion-scripture/289254-shia-suni-4.html [see video in post # 117]
These people are the oppositte of those extreme rafida groups who curse the vast majority of sahaba and existed in the past and present as various sects of shia

You are right brother about Hazrat Abu-bakr (r.a). I was mentioning for those who use bad words for him. About Munafiqeen, I based my argument on the fact that the prophet (saw) had informed only Hazrat Abu Huzaifa (r.a) about munafiqeen. I am not sure if he mentioned about all the Munafiqeen. From the Quranic referreance you mentioned it seems that not all Munafiqeen were in the knowledge of the prophet (saw). Allah (s.w.t) knows best

I heard that the prophet (saw) had warned Hazrat Ameer Muawiya (r.a) from marrying / marrying a certain woman because he had the knowledge. Even when Yazid was born, when he was brought to the Prophet (saw), he said, please take him away as I see the blood of my grandsons on his hands.

you are right hudhaiyfa al yaman [ra] was warned about names of some specific munafiqeen but not all ....

aadaaab
main tu aisi batoon pay yaqeen hi karna choor diya hai
sara aap jaisay aap ka dil chahata hai karain kuyunkeh mera rab dillaan whic rahanda

aab aap ka choice mulla ka khush karain ya dil ko

maafi in advance agar koi gustakhi ki ho

Mataam is not neccessary, and neither is taboot..the former is widely reccomended, the latter merely regional custom. and yes there might be some, but i dont know any shias becoming sunnis, but do so vice versa.

Secondly, shias have a well known problem with quite a few sahabas and merely because they have a different definition to sunnis on what or whom constitutes a sahaba, as there is no blank cheque to all. hence the irreconcilable differences from both sides.

And as a side note, you'll be interested to know that the sahabas were the first ones to curse other shahabas, to the point of war...and if they were pretty happy with dishing it...so who then are we mere mortals to criticise such exemplary behaviour?

Please share what is a definition of a sahabi in the eyes of the Shia? Secondly share a ayat of the Quran or a hadees which shows a sahabi cursing another!

Salam all,

There were people who had hate for Imam Ali a.s, other wise Imam Ali a.s didnt have to go on war against Muslims....

Recent Example of people having hate against ahleybait A.s.

I am sure all of on have seen video on you tube where guys are Screaming " Shahdat-e-Hussain murdabad ", (naozo-billah) ..... Calling Shahdat murdabad shows that they are totally of the track, I mean how can u call shahdat of anyone Murdabad.... But when u have hate for ahleybait, u dunt see what u r doing or saying ... U just do or say whatever hatered for ahleybait a.s makes u do or say....

Now back to orginal question.... ALLAH has done the lanat on kazebeen, munafiqeen and zalmeen and when a shia does it, The question that rises is who is the judge ... Isnt ALLAH the Judge and isnt he the one to decide... Well If a shia does lanat on some zalim kazib or munafiq then ALLAH is the judge... however if someone thinks its wrong, so he steps forward and tells a shia thats its wrong then isnt he becoming the judge ??

We have alot of examples in Shia books where Imam Ali a.s himself is sending lanat on those who made ALLAH's rite wrong and ALLAh's wrong rite.... dua-e-sanmieye Quresh.

Thats only found in shia books so i cant make a point here....

I am gona leave all of u with a question... doesnt Quran or Hadith Forbid us from doing it ?

wasalam
Aqeel.

Re: A question to Shias?

Allah Taala does not like spreading of evil news about each other. If you talk about someone when he is or isn’t present, it is the same as eating a dead brother’s flesh!

In surah 49 verse 12 Allah Taala says,

“O you who believe, Avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you hate it, and be careful of your duty to Allah Taala, surely Allah is of-returning and Merciful.”

Slandering applies even if what you are saying about the individual is true in other words you don’t have to lie or say something untrue about the person to be regarded as slandering even if what you are saving about the individual is true it still falls within slandering.

Prophet Muhammed (May Peace And Blessings Of Allah Taala Be Upon Him Said), “A beleiver is neither a taunter, nor a curser, nor an indecent, nor an abuser.”

Prophet Muhammad has sternly forbidden slandering and cursing. Childhood is the right age to understand these social evils. We should learn to avoid them in our daily dealings.

Prophet Muhammad also said. “A slanderer shall never enter paradise.”

Allah Taalah does not like slandering. Prophet Muhammad said, "Slandering is to mention something about someone which that person hates when someone says it.

Prophet Muhammad once said, “It is not proper for a great truthful person to become a great curser.”

from: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/4482/articles.html

One example from Quran and Seerat of BB Ayesha:

[Shakir 33:67] And they shall say: O our Lord! surely we obeyed our leaders and our great men, so they led us astray from the path;
[Shakir 33:68] O our Lord! give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse.

"Ayesha said kill this Nathal, by Nathal she was referring to Uthman ("Nathal is one who has a long beard and )" ref: Ibn Atheer (Nahaya pg 80 V 5), Ibn Mansur (Lisan Al Arab ch. Lughut Nathal v 11 pg 670))

Re: A question to Shias?

A distant cousin converted to shiia. As far as I know he spends Muharram 10th evening quietly mourning in black clothes.

Re: A question to Shias?

** I SWEAR I don't believe anyone who says that Hazrat Ali (r.a) cursed anyone in his life time. Such an honorable and decent man never had anytime for such a low act. Those who put such allegations on Hazrat Ali (r.a) are trying to degrade him. And I repeat a noble and pious person like Hazrat Ali (r.a) can NEVER EVER spare even a single second for such a low act. EVERY second of his life was spent for the cause of Islam to spread peace for the love of Allah (s.w.t) and the Prophet (saw).**

a low act is a low act, doent matter if i do it or u do it, a sunni does it or a shia does it .... when u say cursing is a low act.... u seem to forget ALLAh does it.... and when ALLAH does it that automatically means its not a low act. Hazrat Ali is pious and noble however cursing someone who desrves it doesnt mean that makes him less noble or pious....

Mention the actual ayat from the Quran that this is a translation of.

I would be interested to know the defination of a sahabi according to twelver shias as well

as far as I know the best and most widely used defination is based on 3 conditions

1-believed in islam during time of Prophet
2-Meet the Prophet
3-Died as muslim

this is according to ibn hajar asqalani

the main reason all sahaba are thought to be adil amongst ahle sunnah is because all narrations that can be traced back to a sahabi are considered authentic and thats a general rule amongst the traditionalists.Thats why they have typically frowned upon those historians who write about inter-sahaba conflicts. However it does not mean that a sahabi is sinless or perfect in his conduct.

aqeel we Don't follow the 'Sunnah' of Allah (swt) rather we follow what He dictates us to do

Refer you the following ayahs and reflect and ponder over them. And the realise what you are commanded to do.

These are the Words of Almighty Allah (swt) Himself:

And those who came (into the faith) after them say: Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who believe. Our Lord! Thou art Full of Pity, Merciful. 59:10

That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case! 2:134 & 2:141

:k:

All Muslims send curse as clearly mentioned in the Quran:

Sura Ahzaab verse 57: Those who annoy Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this World and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating Punishment.

Now who deserves such status, read from Sahi hadiths:

Narrated Al-Miswar bin Makhrama:

Allah’s Apostle said, “Fatima is a part of me, and he who makes her angry, makes me angry.”[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 57, Number 61: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/h...tml#005.057.111]

We then look at this narration :

Narrated 'Aisha:

(mother of the believers) After the death of Allah 's Apostle Fatima the daughter of Allah’s Apostle asked Abu Bakr As-Siddiq to give her, her share of inheritance from what Allah’s Apostle had left of the Fai (i.e. booty gained without fighting) which Allah had given him. Abu Bakr said to her, “Allah’s Apostle said, 'Our property will not be inherited, whatever we (i.e. prophets) leave is Sadaqa (to be used for charity).” Fatima, the daughter of Allah’s Apostle got angry and stopped speaking to Abu Bakr, and continued assuming that attitude till she died. Fatima remained alive for six months after the death of Allah’s Apostle. [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 53, Number 325: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/h...tml#004.053.325]

bro, he has given the reference of the ayats (both from Surat Ahzaab). Read with care.

The point is that cursing the evil doers is not a low act as has been suggested here since to call it a ‘low act’ is actially to attribute such a lowlessness to Allah [swt], His Prophet [s] and angels which obviously cannot be a correct approach.
