For me its a blend of the reasons you mentioned. 1) Religion? Yes to a good limiit but unfortunately i don’t follow it completely 2) Culture is also quite important and its something one is born into so you automatically adapt to it. 3) Social setting is EXTREEMLY important. I don’t have issues with people wearing whatever they want to wear but it seriously looks quite odd when they are dress so wrong for the place they are at.It’s like why are you dressed like you are going to a disc, while you are out here shopping?!
p.s AND NO i know they have no plans of going to the disc even after shopping .
I think how you choose to dress up has a lot to do with how you've been raised...which includes your religious background, how religion is practiced in your community, how you've grown to understand it all, and what you're comfortable in.
Well obviously it's a mixture of what you believe in and the influence of those around you. It's quite interesting really - I've always worn hijab in the sense that I wear a headscarf but my definition of modest dressing has changed over the years.. Perhaps what I thought was acceptable earlier isn't anymore and vice versa.. And I think most girls will probably feel the same - the way you dress doesn't stay as a fixed static thing..
