Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

A lot of Muslims attended the unveiling of the Xmas tree in Bethlehem yesterday..

‘The Palestinian Prime Minister, Rami al-Hamdallah, Mayor of Bethlehem, Vera Baboun, a number of ministers, Governor Abdul Fattah Hamayel, Muslim and Christian clerics, foreign diplomats, representatives for civil and popular institutions and international institutions participated in the festival that was held in Bethlehem’s Manger Square.’

Don’t know why everything has to be so controversial with us.. Not marrying our parents’ choice, women going to work, not living with inlaws etc. We love to make things difficult for ourselves and scream, haram, haram!! A generation ago in our culture women wearing western clothes despite being fullly covered was also considered ‘unIslamic’

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

Agar aap kehti hein ke hijab aur abaya Muslim libaas nahin hein to hum maan lein. Kyun ke apne kehdiya. Lekin hum agar Turkey khayein to gunah gaar hein. Double standard kyun hai bhai? Kis liye?

Hindustan was a non-Muslim country where Muslims resided and also wore a certain dress because of the culture and region both were a part of.

Turkey is eaten by Muslims and non-Muslims living in a certain region BOTH are a part of.

Samaj ayi?

It is a baseless discussion.

After reading post after post of this anti-West garbage…I feel even luckier to be who and where I am.

I’d never want to be so full of prejudice against anyone.

A Muslim nation we cannot be because a REAL Muslim nation would never attack its own but unfortunately our religion is famous for that.

I see.
The irrelevancy of half that post tells me that our discussion appears to have found its natural end. Until our next disagreement then. :\

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

Dear, aap kuch na maanen. It’s ok I don’t any issues with your opinions. I have answers to your above post as well but I don’t want to keep it going with teri-meri thing. So let it be what you think and what I think. Because we two oppose it, means either of us is right and wrong jo ke beshak Allah janta hay, Agar tum ghalat ho to Allah tumhe hidayat de aur agar main ghalat hun to I pray ke Allah mujhay hidayat de!!

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

The problem with Pakistani society is that we are too open to take any kind of bull **** thrown on us in the name of religion and then it becomes more and more acceptable. This kind of nonsense is never taken seriously anywhere else.

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

Wayn Wayn Wayn!

This can be considered as ranting, and as a **stomping, pouting, hands holding to the chest (fake and exemplary) kid **who asks his/her parents…

…" Mommy Daddy! Why can’t we put up a Christmas tree in our house just like others do? All I want to do is to have fun"! :frowning:

The world’s smallest Violin is being played somewhere in this world for you.

**There is nothing anti-west about this thread.
**
This is the same reason I started this thread **where Muslims or those who say they are Muslims, think, if they did not partake in religious activities of majority religion of West, they will be considered anti-West. **

Hence they develop the anxiety and in order to overcome this anxiety, they tend to over-react, overshoot and end up acting against their own beliefs.

Other Non-Muslims have no such problem on a big scale since they are not being the target of negative propaganda by media…on constant and consistent basis.

Thanks a bunch for reconfirming my position.

BTW Reha! Have you even read or tried to understand my posts in this thread? Seriously?

P.S. I do not agree with any ‘fatwa’ which says Thanksgiving celebration is wrong. No religious basis for it.

If it makes you feel happy that my entire post was for you and are unable to pick and choose what was meant towards you so you can answer,… then it is fine by me.

I tried to answer to many posts and thoughts in those posts…in one go.

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

To answer your question diwana - I rarely read your posts. Once in a blue moon if they’re short I’ll skim otherwise I do not.

Your posts are - predictable and almost textbook in nature. Some people will find them validating and some will be looking for actual opinions.

I find opinions interesting…even if they clash with mine.

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

^which textbook is that ?

Re: A question for Muslims who feel they need to conform to perceived expectations

That explains a lot. :hehe:

Thank you for the ‘complement’ and… I am sorry if my posts make you feel like you are back to Iskool. :frowning:
