i have few question from ladies here
when i came to uk i was wondering one thing abt dressing here
men usually wear dresses that are fully covered while women wear clothes that are mini to nothing sometimes despite cold why(if u say thats culture then why is culture made in a way as to expose women while men even close there neck collars with tie) have u ever given it a thougt.
secondly in pakistan why only women shalwar kameez is sleevless why only women wear sarees with there skin visible and there also men are fully covered (with shalwar kameez suits)
why
(if u say its traditionally like that then why dont u ever think men have devised a culture in which they them selves remain covered and just make an enviroment in which females feel comfortable in showing their skin and instead of regreting such stuff feel proud in becoming modern)
Eh? Maybe in UK/US, but in Pak ive seen lots of guys wearing tighter pants than grls , not to mentoin tank tops n stuff.. ive never seen grls wearing tank tops or shorts here
U knw what I like abt there (US/UK) You can wear whatever hte hell you want.. u wanna wear miniskirts or a burka, noones gonna bother you at least not to the xtent to which Iād think pakis wud bug/leer/punish u for dressing a certain way .. just my observations from the last four months
(if u say its traditionally like that then why dont u ever think men have devised a culture in which they them selves remain covered and just make an enviroment in which females feel comfortable in showing their skin and instead of regreting such stuff feel proud in becoming modern)
what are ur views abt this
cause women like to think that looking like a ***** is modern:D...
while men have no will, neither need, to prostitute themselves to feel free....they earn already moremoney than woman....why showing off their skin to be offered diner or flowers:D
ps, i don't where in pak you've been...cause where i've been in pak men were far more uncovered than women....i mean men hair is on display while women were under dupatta, chaddar, burqa, or niqa;)
Cultural issues aside, you're very right Saro. I'm not quite sure why it should be but across most cultures, men are covered up without question or issue and women are either not covered - or covered to prevent ogling. I guess it has to do with what we humans perceive as "attractive"? Lets face it guys, you look great in suits and ties but hey it just doesnt do anything for us gals to see you in a Speedo! Put a gal in one of these though and watch out! There are of course exceptions to my humble observations ie., there ARE some guys who look smashing in a speedo and some gals who look better in a burkha....but I think my general observation can stand.
itās culturally that you think guys look good in suit and tiesā¦i personnally think they look ugly in those attiresā¦shalwar qameez is so much more sexy:D
Sorry Ms PS, I didnt mean specifically "suit and tie", I just meant that the guys are "generally" covered up - whether its with a suit and tie or Shalwaar Kameez or whatever. Not so generally true for the gals....i mean, it is generally considered to be more attractive for women to be covered less - OR to be covered MORE to prevent leers.....see what I mean?
Saro re your first Q, up until world war 1 women were covered from head to toe, long skirts and jackets and longs sleeves too
Europe was a Christian society and they had /have morals... too, it was considered for the most part terrible to wear short clothes...
only ladies of ill repute wore them
Coming to world war two, there was a shortage of everything, it was very important to help with teh war effort and one of the things that was important was to not waste... stuff
like cloth... it was imperative that everything that was necessary was taken by the war effort which meant that using too much fabric for womens fashion was frowned upon, skirts became shorter and and less flared... therefore using less material..
the fashions changed rapidly over the last fifty od years as people attitudes have changed... or rather evolved
you mean girls are usually not expected to say on a public forum they like naked sexy men:halo:
while itās more socially acceptable for gyus to say they like bikini wearing topmodels:D
yeah i get your pointā¦but iām not of those kind of women who go around half naked to satisfy men lustā¦and think it is freedom compare to modestly dressed women who are supposed to be āoppressedā by men:D
That is so much crap. The fashion aaj kal, esp in the uk is of drain-pipe jeans and layers. What can you see through that? Nothing. Plus its winter, so youāll be lucky to catch anyone in less than 43563463463 layers and scarfs and so on. Unless of course you go clubbing, in which case :nono:
girls can CERTIANLY say they prefer naked SEXY men...whether on a public forum or anywhere else. my point was that well unfortunately, the vast majority of men are perceived to be sexier in full clothing rather than in skimpy revealing things. The opposite seems to be true for the women.... and whether a woman chooses to participate or not in that end of things,,,well thats entirely up to personal choice. All a matter of perceptions, personal experience, cultural values yadayada. But it all seems to boil down to the same in many ways, no matter what the culture, religion or upbringing....that guys are vastly more "covered" when being depicted as "sexy thangs" while the gals are vastly LESS covered to be so considered....
Well! Thats was not the impression that I got when I heard girls screaming on the Oprah show when Brad Pitt was the guest and his role in "Helen of Troy" was being discussed.
heh heh!! Like I said. "GENERALLY" guys are more often considered sexy when covered but there are OBVIOUSLY exceptions to this vast generality as so beautifully exampled by the wondrously gorgeous mr pitt.
well thanks for ur view
one more question LAZY DAISY IT ALL CAME AFTER WORLD WAR 2 WHEN THERE WAS SHORTAGE OF EVERY THING SO MY QUESTION IS
this shortage was only for women while men can have there neck collars closed with tie even
perhaps that was my piont
today culture are devised in such a manner for men lust that women show there skin in name of freedom and men just enjoy that whether they are in pakistan or abroad just there is differnce in expression
in pakistan like sara said people usually are more concerned on others rather then themselves so might make nasty comments but abroad u also tend to listen to similar comments like
she is really hot (such comments are present every where but more in a teasing way in pakistan and less in civilized world)
