A question about Umrah

What are the rules if you are wanting to perform another Umrah during your stay in Makkah, after you have performed your inital umrah?

Re: A question about Umrah

Another question: Is a farewell tawaf recommended during Umrah when leaving for Medina from Makkah or is it only for Hajj?

Re: A question about Umrah

If you are in Makkah, you need to travel to Masjid-e-Aisha to get ready for the Umrah again. For the person in Makkah, Masjid-e-Aisha is the Meeqaat.
Any cab driver should be able to take you there, or there are other transport services like vans etc. that do that.

That's only for Hajj as far as I know.

As a matter of fact the Prophet SAW did not perform multiple umrahs.

However, since, today many people come from across the world, some scholars have the opinion that if one gives sufficient gap b/w the first and next, then you can perform another one before leaving. Specially if you are planning to travel to medinah as well. Then you can take ihram when returning from medinah and come to makkah perform another umrah. Then depart to Jeddah for your return flight to UK.
Now, as for the tawaf Al wida'iya (farewell) - it is not a requirement for Umrah, but it is recommended if you can to perform that as the last thing to be done in your stay at Makkah.

Re: A question about Umrah

Jazak Allah borther! I’ve just read up more about it on this website. Jazak Allah Khair.

Re: A question about Umrah

:wsalam: Jazak Allah Brother! I intend to perform as many Nafl Tawaf whilst in Makkah, but wasn’t sure about the tawaf Al wida’iya - thanks for clarifying that. Jazak Allah Khair.

Re: A question about Umrah

another question, is it recommended to have the hair (from the head) shaved or cut before wearing the Ihram?

"Arabic Ihram, sacred state into which a Muslim must enter in order to perform the hajj (major pilgrimage) or the 'umrah (minor pilgrimage). At the beginning of a pilgrimage, the Muslim stops at a designated station to perform certain ritual cleansing ceremonies; each male shaves his head, cuts his nails, and trims his beard before donning a white, seamless, two-piece garment. "

I also read something similar in one of the books.

Re: A question about Umrah

never heard of that....

what is part of Umrah, though, is HALAQ which means after performing the Sa'ee, male must get his head shaved (or the least, get all hair trimmed for about estimated one inch or the width of two fingers - yaa phir angusht-e-Shahaadat kee "pour" jitnaY baal) ...

females should get their hair trimme from the end of about width of two fingers as well.

then get a shower (ghusul) and take off the Ihraam as the end of the Umrah.

Re: A question about Umrah

^ :jazak: I had never heard of this either until I came across it in one of the books.

Re: A question about Umrah

^ AOA
Br. CM: Don’t refer to britannica for precise information on how to perform your rites.
No you don’t need to shave your head before entering into ihram. However it is sunnah to take a bath (ghusl) or at a minimum to do wudu, applying atr (fragranct oil) offer 2 rakah nafl and making dua to Allah after wearing the ihram. Here are the precise directions on how to enter ihram.

Please refer to the above for now to completely understand all aspects. And refrain from going to britannica and stuff.

The shaving of the head is a sunnah after completion of the Umrah as part of exiting from ihram.

Re: A question about Umrah

^ I am referring to books that I bought, but using ‘google’ to clear some issues such as the above. I used the quote from Britannica as this was similar to what I read elsewhere.

Another question, from which gate should one enter Majid Al Haram when performing Umrah? Some sources say Baab Bani Shaibah, some Baabus Salaam and some Umrah Gate?

Re: A question about Umrah

Ummm.. I really do not remember the specifics.. Last time I was there was in Aug 98 with my father... and I remember entering from Umrah Gate.. but dunno if if matters.... may be there is specific instructions.. would like to know as well with a proper reference.

Re: A question about Umrah

No restriction on entering from any gate brother CM.
The link I gave is the reliable. If you keep searching via google, you will get confused as a lot of information is not substantiated by proof.
If you are bent on checking every site, then I can't help you.

Re: A question about Umrah

:jazak: AQ brother and Aa brother, I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Is it clearly signposted for where you need to go for ‘Halaq’? Do they have a set of barbers based in shops, or are they sat outside one of the gates of Masjid Al Haram?

Re: A question about Umrah

Re: A question about Umrah

The site you recommended is very useful, Jazak Allah' I'm reading up on the Hajj and Umrah Q&As.

Re: A question about Umrah

Great, Thanks.

Being lonely isn't even something to worry about...what is there to feel lonely about in the House of Allah?

Re: A question about Umrah

nothing :)

Re: A question about Umrah

^ Exactly. :D

Re: A question about Umrah

Do ladies enter from a separate entrance or the same?
